A magnet school doesn't have a school district where kids are zoned for that one school. THey instead draw from any number of zones to create a more rounded student body.

well rounded student body can be defined as a school where athletes from all over the area (other zones) who cant or choose not to go private can gather and create an instantly competitive team. all it takes is the school hiring a good coach or allowing a volunteer coach to run the program.

University School of Jackson is an independent i.e. non-religious private school.

And to fill in something the original poster forgot to mention, this is talking about soccer. I still think it's more revealing to look at the counties represented: Knox twice, Hamilton twice, Williamson, Maury, Madison, and Dyer. Five of the eight come from the six power counties, and that even with one of those counties having only one school in the division (Sheffield).
