You may be right about Soddy being cocky, or it may be confidence. I know Soddy's success cannot be slighted. When a team stays on top for as long as they have, everyone eventually hopes someone, anyone else beats them. They work hard and play hard and have had a lot of success for many years now. I think it is natural for them to be the one everyone wants to see get beat.

I think you are missing the point so many of us are trying to make. People dont hate Soddy because they win. A lot of teams win and are not hated. Look at Goodpasture, look at Marshall county last year, or look at Red bank. Soddy hasnt won state in several years. IT"S THEIR ATTITUDE, and lack of sportsmanship and , how shall I say this, lack of integrity. Nobody wants to play them for all the drama in the stands, and certainly nobody wants to play them on their own field because they are not sure if they can get a fair game. Why is this do you think? Why do you think the dislike is spread over so many teams from so many different parts of the state. I dont hate Soddy, I dont hate any team, but I really dislike the drama that comes with them. Last year when Red bank won , they refused to shake their hands after the game. Having fans thrown out of the park by police after a loss to St. Benedict. Lack of scruples. That is what people hate.

Well said, but Soddy fans will never understand your point even though everybody else will. Soddy is a great team with good girls on it and goodness knows they have tons of talent, but you are right, their fans are just unbearable. Maybe now they won state this year they will calm down and learn to win and lose gracefully. By the way Soddy girls you did play great this year regardless of what happened in the stands, with the officials, and any other grownup associated with your team. All of the girls can be proud of what hard work has accomplished.

The girls of soddy are great girls. yes, their fans are unbearable, but they are just an extension of their coach. He deliberately tries to infuriate others that watch his teams play. Even go as far as having his pitcher intentionally hit an opposing pitcher batting to get her out of a game which I saw him do in the mid- 90's. No wonder noone in chattanooga has any respect for him

Bleacher you really are a bum. Let me tell you that I know Clifford personally have seen him for many years out there coaching. He puts himself and his reputation on the line for those girls that he coaches. You can say what you will about that but I call that a COACH. How many state titles has your team won? Really. Clifford has how many now and how many runner-ups? I'm sorry but I have been watching softball for many years now and EVERY TEAM has some unruly fans. They are are not just Soddy fans that get kicked out of games, I see it happen every now and than with EVERY team. I really think that you are a sour grapes guy that your girl wanted to play for Soddy and didn't make the team. I mean really if you have nothing better to say than ALWAYS getting onto Clifford and the way he coaches than don't watch their games its that simple, I'm sorry but some Soddy fans are not rude and obnoxious like YOU are were like caged animals that when you poke to many times we have to fight back. And you just don't know when to stop and trufully i have much more respect for those on here that have opinions and keep them to theirselves than those like you which I have NO RESPECT for. Also how would you know if the hit was intentional or not? I mean are you really Clifford, or the pitcher who hit the girl? I guess that of course

I have seen several Soddy games this year and have never seen a fan get escorted from the field, however i did see a cop have to step in and save the umps friday night when a man from Mt Juliet got in the umps faces and was yelling at them after the game.....Guess all the "rednecks" are not from Soddy...Congrats to Soddy for coming back and winning the title...Congrats to GPS, Baylor and Ooltewah for making it to state and making Chattanooga proud....Finally...Congrats to all the teams statewide that made it to state......

As far as the parent in the umps face...i dont know if you know this or not but the parent got shoved by a TSSAA official...and that is where all that got started. And you want to talk about redneck...WHO HAD THE COWBELLS???? And who was making comments when a girl was hurt and they said she wasnt hurt she just need to get up. And oh yeah i think it was also your coach that was yelling at OUR FANS to SHUT UP. so please explain that!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea, I have seen his reputation that he puts out on the line...and the reputation is not very good. I have watched his teams for over 20 years. No, I wouldnt want my daughter playing for him, regardless of how many titles he has won...besides, I dont live in chattanooga..I live in middle tennessee and the team I root for has won a whole lot more titles than soddy has..Everyone at that tourney in 97 knew he intentially hit that girl..he was the only one that didnt think so....like others have said, and not just me....its funny how no one at the tourneys have any problems except for soddy.....if it smells like manure, it must be manure!
