Chris Brown Wants a Trade

Recommended Posts

According to the morning sports talk program in Nashville, they reported that Yahoo Sports is reporting that Chris Brown, Titan's RB, wants a trade.

Brown has one more year left on his contract, and according to his agent, is unsure of his role with the team, and ostensibly, wants to go to a contender like Miami where he could split carries with Ronnie Brown.

This boggles my mind if it is anything other than an agent-instigated attempt to secure a new contract for his client.

He is listed #1 on the depth chart today (pending injury). How much more of a job description do you need?

Because of past injuries, and an opportunity opening up in the draft, another RB was taken. Had Cedric Benson fallen enough last year, HE would've been your competition. Chris, it IS called competition.

Travis Henry was brought in last season because of your propensity for not staying on the field. That is called by the Titans, CYA.

Each season, virtually every position has competition. The best will play, the rest will either be cut, play special teams, or get de-activated every week. Nothing in your past performances woulod indicate that they should expect you to finish a whole season. That's why they have other RB's on the roster.

If you go to Miami, you will split carries with Ronnie Brown-or be a third string back once Ricky Williams shows back up. How would that suit you then?

I hope he does get traded....When LenDale gets better he will be the running back....

I agree with all of your posts. But, this is a free market business and just as Steve McNair was cut because of cap issues and his desire to get more money up front on his contract, Chris is working the system the same way. It goes both ways. When a veteran gets cut, the teams owners cry "It's a business". The players should get the same leverage. If he's not motivated by a challenge, then Chris leaving the team is the right move for all. :thumb:
