Fayette Ware or Gibson Co. folks:

If you don't mind, could you please give a brief summary of what you saw Fayette Ware run. I'm an old Coach Tim Thompson fan from his days at coaching at Melrose. Those who aren't aware, Coach Thompson has various formations he runs out of, but from the looking at the stats ... I'm thinking he used his T-Formation package. I'm just guessing here ... but that's what I think. I'm really interested in their 'D'. How did their defense look to you? I'm impressed with the stats. They held you guys to 65 yards of offense, while amassing 397 themselves, with 371 of those on the ground. To think, they were the #1 PASSING team in the Shelby-Metro area last year. Did they look as good as their stats?

Here is the Commercisl Appeals story on the game:

Fayette-Ware 51, Gibson County 13: Fayette-Ware unveiled a tough ground game and polished off Gibson County in the opener for both teams.

Wade Bonner rushed for 130 yards and scored three times. Kendall Williams had 118 yards and two scores as Fayette-Ware broke open a close game with two second-quarter touchdowns.

I would love to hear from someone who was there. Thanks in advance for your response.

P.S.

Is coach Thompson still having his QB run back and forth from sideline to huddle between each snap to get the play from him personally? I have to admit .. when I first saw it, I thought he was going to wear his QB out ... then he went to to the State Championship game with that style of coaching 3 years in a row ... so I guess he doesn't wear his QB out afterall.

fayette ware is a whole lot better team than they were last year..i forget the name of the offense they run but its the i-formation with 4 backs..they ran mostly tosses and then they would send a run up the middle...they are very quick and athletic!!!! gibson co. had tons of people out last night...cunningham got hurt in the first quarter but should be back next week from what i heard..we had 3 oline/dlinemen out and several backup players that were out...when cunningham was in there was no stopping him...in the whole 6 minutes that he was in in the first quarter he returned a kick off back for a touchdown and had about a 70-80 yard run maybe? anyways he looked real good...good luck to fayette the rest of the year

kwc: Have you seen Tim Thompson's TV show? It's on Public Access TV channel 17 if you have cable. I was channel surfing earlier today and saw part of it. I believe it's called "Up Close."

No, I haven't seen it. What time was it on?
