That's what I thought.. Why in the heck is he commiting so early? I'm not sold on Brian just yet as a major D-1 but he is just a junior. Nice player with good athletcism but UT, USC may be as good an offer as he gets. My point is he must have impressed those that know a heck of a lot more about football than I. Why not wait and see what is available.

I was told by a family member that he didn't like UT but to take the next offer this quick doesn't make sense...... JMO though.

Good points. Brian did set a state record last year for interceptions as a sophomore. Say what you want about 2A but that is still pretty good. He is very athletic and has been to some camps. No doubt scouts have evaluated him and deemed him to be a prospect. I think that his strength is on defense but he does have the ability to make some plays on offense as well. The good thing for Alcoa is that he will be back next year.

Who cares if he "commits" right now? He doesn't have to sign for another 16 months or so. He can always "commit" and change is mind if a better offer is made available. He did the smart thing by committing early, and if he has a fantastic SR season then he might reevaluate his options. At least now he's going to SC (or at least that's the rumor).

Wouldn't you call that being "dishonest"? Commiting then not living up to your commitment is being dishonest. Unfortunately today it happens all the time yet it is still wrong....

It might be a little dishonest, but I believe he should commit to wherever is best for him. If that means USC is what he feels is best for him right now, then so be it, but if he gets an offer from somewhere else he feels is "best" then he should go there. Besides, didn't Cade do the same thing when the 'Ol Ball Coach came calling for him a few years ago after committing to UNC?

He sure did.....but my point is simple....why commit now. I think Brian...with another year left at the highschool ranks....may get to live his dream if it is still playing for Miami. Sometimes an early commital will take the spotlight off and other teams will not take a good look at a player unless he is really lighting it up.

As for Cade.....my guess is he was surprised USC offered as were many others. UNC was a great offer and a take it or we will move on type deal. I don't think Brian's is that type of offer considering this is just his junior year.

Hey...if USC is where he wants to be then I am happy for him..... :o Now he can focus on the field and his team.
