Oneida vs. Williamsburg

Oneidas defense has already proved they can play but when is the offense gonna show something. I can understand the first 2 games of the year not wanting to let Coalfield see a whole lot of what you can do but they didn't do anything against them either.

It is a shame when you have a potential all-state player in #8 and can't find a way to get him the ball.

How can he go from making plays against Ausin East and Fulton as a sophomore to not making plays against Wartburg, McCreary Co., and Coalfield.

I am about as big of an Oneida fan as there is and I am not trying to put any of the players or coaches down but at some point you gotta get your big time players the ball.

I know that I have made several posts about this kid(we are not related)but all I want to see is Oneida get back to where they used to be and for that to happen the running up the middle stuff is going to have to stop.

With that said......I don't know a whole lot about Williamsburg but I do know they have a high powered offense so our defense is gonna have to show up again, and hopefully our offense will show up too.

Good luck Friday night and GO BIG ORANGE.

 Heck, if you all think its impossible to complete a pass to the feller, pitch it to him on a reverse. Tennessee has said time and time again that the most important thing for the QB to do is get the ball to players that can make plays. I suppose everyone knows who Robert Meachem is now? If #8 is everything he's made out to be, he should be able to do the rest. Oneida has some weapons, it should be important to use as many as possible. Be careful, too, of setting it all on that boys shoulders, the weight might get heavy.

That defense is athletic enough to keep Williamsburg in front of them in the game. If the air attack doesn't develop for Williamsburg the Indians should cruise in this match-up. Lambo, you've only allowed one TD this season, Keep those "knuckle-heads" plugging.

Hold on....I am not trying to put it all on his shoulders just saying that he can be a big time playmaker so we need to find more ways to get him the ball.....#5 would be another good one to get the ball to when he gets back to full speed.

I agree P22, the qb's need to start getting the ball down, but how about throwing some screen passes to get your athletes going early and also help your qb's confidence in the process.

To the brothers currently listed amoung the Indian Nation:

We are going to have to drop the Scott Co. Item. It seems the more you wallow in ignorance the deeper the pit becomes. I'm sure Bass and the others have decided the outcomes of many a Highlander - Indian game, that was never played. I hope I don't lower myself any farther by repeatedly answering to their insolent whims. Pardon me for making you have to use a dictionary to understand what I'm saying, but I'm sure my counterparts are able to keep up. I lost the sense of competition involved when one is so convinced that they can repeatedly destroy the other year after year after year..........but hey, thats just me! Heaven Forbid that the Indians actually give them a game some October Evening. (I heard they occasionally do in soccer) :o Oh, I jest! Please help me put this baby to rest by turning the other cheek when I know it is so hard to do. When we can all act grown up about something, only then can it become a reality. I'd say the less said about the meeting, the more likely it would be to occur in the future. :) Since we all already know the outcome, it won't be that great of a gate, cause the Tribe's Fans won't follow the team that has no chance.(maybe some moms and dads) I know I'm full of sick ideas, but the thing has built a life of its own! Help?

:P Kaz

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
