West retains the city championship 45-24 but the game was not decided until mid-4th quarter. Congratulations to the 'Canes tonite for a great game. I will never understand how Jeff Co ever beat you guys. Very impressed with Ramsey & Dockery who are both speed demons.

Surely East will make the playoffs, but who knows. The real question is can they make it past the first round or far enough to face West again?

They won't have to if they can take the 2nd seed. The Canes host Cocke Co. this Friday then have road trips to both Greeneville and Cherokee before the last game with Boone at Burke-Toney. If East does not have the turnovers that plagued them against West, all of these games are winable. Good luck Canes!

Who is going to take the Freshman game tonight. I know the Canes are undefeated, not sure about the Trojans. Tee Howell East's Freshman QB# has some ability, can't wait to see how he develops..

Hard to answer this one. West has not lost a game either, but we have not played anyone that I would consider to be on East's level. It should be a good game.

Congrats to both teams for Friday night. Very good high school football game. The game was much closer then the final score. West did a great job of playing hard and pulling out the victory. East I know a moral victory isn't what you wanted but as long as you give that effort the rest of the year there will be many more wins in your column.

Not sure about the freshman game should be like Friday's game hard fought and close. Hope it is injury free.

 

My son played for East's freshmen last year but had to transfer to West this year. We are zoned for West so if he stayed at East he could not play football at all. To those East players who showed good sportmanship and shook his hand after the game thank you and good luck in the future. To those who didn't (you know who you are) the lack of sportsmanship shows....well lets just say how you act in public is a direct reflection of your parents, I hope they are proud of you.

3rd staright win against West by the Canes Freshman team last night.. Will this rollover to the Varsity, I hope so...I'd love to see another 6 year win streak like I had against the Trojans "4 that I played in obviously" I guess I'll lay this thread to rest now..
