Purple & Gold Standard
Quit living in the past, i'll bet any amount of money that Union City doesnt beat Jo Byrns this year. You won't play this year...You boys will be going to either McKenzie or Fayette Acd would be my bet.... But as far as atmosphere,Jo Byrns was pretty good...The smoke smell...The trucks revving the engines..The midget Devil and the Old Guy Devil running around...The Bell Witch...The big ole net keeping the ball from going in the farmers field...It was pretty cool,no it was cold that night... If you want to see facilities though check out the stadium and surrounding grounds at Union City...I don't imagine any other 1A team can compare..Actually not many teams in the state can compare with the facilities at UC... But as far as football atmosphere....Maryville in a state semi-final in Maryville, hands down.... Predarat
I have to agree with JoByrns and The Dungeon! That is an awesome place to watch a football game!
Raynok
For atmosphere I have to go with Jo Byrns. The fact that both teams have to walk through the crowd to get to the field then on top of that the field is sets down low beneath the fence and the fence is lined with fans on both sides gives sort of a gladiator type feel to the entire event. Combine that with the truck pipes, devil's mascots everywhere, the smell of tobacco in the air just makes for a unique atmosphere. If you ever attend one of these games you won't forget it. rocket_fever2007
"The Dungeon" Jo Byrns High School Red Devils Cowbells, Airhorns, and dualled out Chevrolet 350's taching up to 6000 RPM!!! And that's just when they run thru the banner. definitely not JBS. we just played ther and i've seen cow pastures look better than their field. but yeah the cow bells and trucks were sweet. Predarat
The thing about JoByrns old and kind of run down field/stadium is it contributes to the intimidating atmosphere. It all fits together perfectly! Its not nice like the shoes you just bought brand new at the store but nice like the shoes you keep wearing and wearing and wearing just because they fit so well. Minor league hockey used to have a lot of the same types of venues and they kind of lost something with all the new arenas coming up. jojo12
Without question CPA has the best of everything. Atmosphere, facilities, food you name it and they got it.
1A FAN
The creekbank in Hartsville is by far the best playing surface in 1A or 2A in Middle Tennessee. The atmosphere there can be a little daunting as well come November!
reddevil44
definitely not JBS. we just played ther and i've seen cow pastures look better than their field. but yeah the cow bells and trucks were sweet. If I had took the beating you did, I would have to agree.

I have to agree on the stadium, and I do mean stadium, being very nice. I'll argue w/ you on atmosphere ('cause I'm loud @ the game) and food taste, but not food variety!
