That's because your region doesn't hold a candle to the teams from around K-town. So go ahead and finish your cupcake schedule and then be ready to start basketball the day after the 2 regions meet in the playoffs.

No, its because they seem to have forgotten that their coverage area includes us... kinda like Chattanooga media sometimes forget they serve Bradley county. Until basketball season, then we both make them remember.

Well if Knoxville media is supposed to service the entire eastern part of the state, then I guess it goes back to the old saying- "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

since i play for cherokee i need west to win and then if we were to win out then we could have a possible three way tie for first but then again id like to see boone win just for the fact that everyone hypes west up like there unstoppable west is good and has a lot of depth but there human and CAN lose

I did not see where anyone said MoWest is unstopable or unbeatable. No one in Morristown believes that we are omnipotent, just good. Does that mean Cherokee is not good (no one has said that), does that mean Boone is not good (on one has said that either). So, please do not think we believe that we are unstopable. West is in the position to prove who we are every year and every game (just like every other team). It just so happens that we have been the best in the region for a few years (not counting 2004) and we have been able to prove that on the field. It does not mean we will be this year, but all of MoWest fans are hoping we will (just like all of Boone's fans are pulling for Boone and Cherokee's fans are pulling for Cherokee).

I would love to see a team strong enough to take Maryville from this region. It would make it better to me if that team was MoWest, but if it is Boone, Cherokee, East even, I would be pulling for our region. If it has to be one of the Sullivans or Johnson Co, them I will pull for them.

So, is West unstopable or unbeatable? No, but we are not going to give anyone the game. Every team we play will have to do the same as we do -- earn the win.

Very well said! ;)

Is there any particular reason you want to come on here and trash us? I don't think you have a dog in this hunt.

If you will read back, I was responding to a previous message about Knoxville teams. That's what happens on message boards- people give their different opinions on varying subjects. BTW- you don't have a clue about who does or doesn't have a "dog in this hunt."

You want a piece Bro? Nobody in Knoxville or around Knox can beat Maryville aparently.. The only game they do not want to play is against Morristown.. We have plenty of state titles East of Knoxville to be validated son...

This post contains a comment about Knoxville media, not Knoxville teams. And there is a big difference between voicing an opinion and being disrespectful. This is a big regional game for both of these teams, and outside of Johnson City, noone will be covering it. It's kinda stinks for the people in Morristown to get ignored by Knoxville media... I mean every network station in Morristown is out of Knoxville. I guess we are lucky in Greeneville to get network feeds from Tri-Cities stations as well as Knoxville. They have great area coverage of HS sports and at least one of them covers Five Rivers Conference games every Friday. Looking forward to seeing the highlights from this one...it is shaping up to be a fun rivalry.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
