I know East is known for their consistency of being inconsistent, but I think they may be too quick for Cherokee. The Dockery kid may be the quickest kid in the Five Rivers Conf.

Wish I could disagree with the Crockett over Cocke Co., but the way Cocke Co played at East last night, Red Boiling Springs would've beaten them.

As a Boone fan I'm just hoping for Cherokee to win.

Karns at Dobyns-Bennett – It’s going to be chilly on the reservation come Friday night and the Indians will be looking for more pelts to keep warm. Beaver will do just fine; Dobyns-Bennett 42-10

Bearden – open date; next week at Sevier County

Campbell County at Science Hill – The Jacksboro Jaguars come to the Hill this week hoping to sneak up on the ‘Toppers. Hope is out-of-town this week though; Science Hill 24-14

Sevier County at Jefferson County – Some Sevier Silver-tips are coming down to Dumplin Valley looking to scavenge about for a win they misplaced up in Kingsport last week; Sevier County 31-14

4A – Mountain Lakes

Sullivan East at Elizabethton – The Bluff City Brigade will need their foul weather gear when they march into Carter Co. Friday; Sullivan East 21-12

Johnson County at Sullivan North – The Raiders will try to play cowboy and put their brand on some lanky Longhorns; Johnson County 22-16

Sullivan Central at Tennessee High – The Vikings are back home in the Castle after a successful raid into Bluff City last week and will continue their march towards the playoffs by collaring some cats from Central; Tennessee High 35-10

Sullivan South at Unicoi County – The Blue Devils will try to put a hex on South but the Rebels live a charmed life; Sullivan South 35-14

4A – Five Rivers

Morristown East at Cherokee – The mighty Mobucks are putting on their warpaint and readying themselves for a fierce battle with some cantankerous ‘Canes; Morristown East 22-21

David Crockett at Cocke County – Legend says that ole Davy “…killed him a bar when he was only three…”, so he ought to be able to handle some raucous Roosters; David Crockett 21-17

Volunteer at Daniel Boone – The Falcons better watch out when they come up to Boonesboro, the Trailblazers are pretty good shots; Daniel Boone 31-13

Greeneville at Morristown West – Greeneville will try to practice their voodoo on the Men of Troy but it’s the Devils that will be cast out of Burke-Toney; Morristown West 38-10

Agreed even though East/Cherokee (sic 'em East!) and Crockett/Cocke Co. are probable toss-ups.

You have missed your calling if this is the only writing you do. Seems to me a byline in some paper has to be in your future.

Great stuff and fantastic humor.

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
