I am going to attempt to make a playoff prediction for this mess of a region before tonights games.

I think.....

Milan will win out with tiebreakers over all legitimate teams.

Huntingdon will win out with tiebreaker over westview and humboldt.

Westview beats peabody and humboldt and loses to milan.

Humboldt loses out. with tiebreaker of peabody.

Peabody loses to westview and milan.

this would put the standings like so....

1. Milan 5-5 (5-2)

2. Huntingdon 6-4 (5-2)

3. Westview 8-2 (5-2)

4. Humboldt 6-4 (4-3)

This would leave Peabody out with a 7-3 (4-3) record.

If this happens I am a genius. With all the variables this is 10000 to 1 odds

I think Humboldt wins one of their last two what does that do ?

Does anybody know how all the tie breakers work?? I know head to head is good for a two way tie, but what about a three way tie.

Heres why,

I see the region looking like this after week 10.

Milan (5-2) if Milan wins out (toughest schedule with Trenton & Westview left)

Westview (5-2) if Westview beats Humboldt and loses to Milan

Trenton (4-3) if Trenton loses to Milan and beats GC

Huntingdon (4-3) if H-town splits their last two against USJ & Humboldt

Humboldt (4-3) if Humboldt loses to Westview and H-town

Who gets the 3rd and 4th spot based on the proposed 3-way tie??????? Dont have a clue, but is it overall record, points scored, or what?

I think this could really be the way it ends up

thoughts, disagreements, comments and just plain ole smart remarks welcome :D

I honestly don't think we'll know anything until after the Milan/Westview game and the Huntingdon/Humboldt game in Week 10.

I have a question, and it pertains to the subject of the playoffs. I couldn't decide to start a new topic or not, so I choose not to. Anyways, if USJ wins out against Huntington and Dresden, then what would the outcome of the other games in 7-2a be for USJ to go to the playoffs?

why do all of the other teams besides milan have to split their games? milan can easily have a bad game and lydale get hurt or something and lose a game...just wondering...i know you were trying to figure out some way of trying to have a tiebreaker...but still...and you said at the end if humboldt loses to both westview and huntingdon and before that it says "if H-town splits their last two against USJ & Humboldt" so pretty much you're saying that USJ will beat them...just kind of confusing...but i dont think it will come down to that...good job thinking about that though, i wouldn't have thought about it that way...im still saying humboldt and milan win out...humboldt prolly has a tougher schedule since milan is "so great"...ha...but good post but i dont think it will come down to that

Actually we will know the correct scenario of who needs to beat who this coming saturday, oct. 21. Just read the Jackson Sun after this fridays games. We'll have to wait til the next friday though to see who actually beats who. It will actually be like a playoff week, all of the games will be of the utmost significance.

after we beat yall 36-9 i dont think id put that "ha" after "since Milan’s so great" Milan will win out because we have to. After the whole tssaa thing we cant afford to loose a game, we're better than westview and Trenton, and there is no way we would overlook somebody since were in a must win situation.

I think Huntington will win out, not humboldt. Ive seen all three teams play (USJ, Humboldt, and Huntington). and despite their record, Huntington has a very good team when they come to play, i just think they were relying too much on what everybody thought they would do this year, and they forgot to do it. It's must win for them too and i have confidence that they will get it together for a playoff run. (ending in the quarter-finals hopefully)

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
