No disrespect, but who did he play for in High School?

Bledsoe...Rod was a Tennessee Mr. Football winner his senior year at Milan. Just a really good athlete there. IMO he was a huge get for the Memphis program.

My son graduated last year and his team played against Rod. It`s been kinda neat keeping up with players around West TN that your team has competed against and how they do in college. They were foes at one time, but in your heart you wish them the best of luck at the next level. Some do well, some are just kinda there and making it through school, and some just don`t pan out at all. But you really hate to see something like this happen to a kid. Even though he was an opponent in high school, you read about him all the time in the papers and he had a small place in your heart. It`s great to read that he seems to be doing alright but I`m sad to read that this might be career ending for him. If any Milan fans get to talk to him please tell him this JCM fan is still pulling for him.

Thanks VG

I talked to one of the milan coaches tonight at walmart. Coach Holded talked to rod today. He had surgery today and is up and moving around. He will have to wear a neck brace for a while, obviously, but there wont be any serious long term damage. Some doctors say that it is career ending but according to rod, one specialist said there is a slight chance for a return depending on how it heals. He's still hopeful so keep him in your prayers.
