Has anyone thought of the playoff scenario's. Cloudland can still make it (as I get blasted for saying that) if and only if the fans get behind the players and the players get behind the coaches. I know people will say that they can't beat hampton but they can beat grace and that's where they need to start. So take one game at a time. Yes it will help my team out too. Just a fair warning to the Cloudland folks. Do not let the knoxville referees get into your head. There will be no breaks in knoxville because of their egos (badddd), so play through the bad calls.

MrSandman the fans are behind the players, and the players respect the coach's, but here are some things thay you probley don't know. A lot of people beleave that last years Highlanders were a well coached machine, the trouth is the assistants have been thair for years but the head coach of only two years. He has been an assistant for many years but not the head coach. Them boys worked out in the off season in the weight room and running. Now this year only a hand full worked out in the off season and it shows. Last year the line was bigger, stronger, and we had a lot of speed in the back field. We also had a great Quarterback and a offense that sometimes bent the rules and changed the play that the head coach called in. Point I am trying to make is the head coach has to be on these boys all year long and like Pujo has said football is a all year sport, you have to be in shape. lift weights, and blend as a team to have a great year. Cloudland is lacking that leadership this year and maby Keith has to many (irons in the fire) with other things like softball, or can"t find the time to be in the weight room everyday so maby the Highlanders need to be looking for new leadership.

Good post. The one thing I don't understand is why are the coaches neglecting the weight room in the offseason? Not one coach showed up all of last winter and summer to work with the kids that did come. Myself, the pee wee and grasscutter coach took some of the jr. high boys under our wings and you see what happened? An undefeated season and a championship. This post is not meant to be negative, but to get some people to wake up. If the weightroom does not become a mandatory thing, then this program will never win again. I think a lot of people don't understand the fact that you can't just suit up in a Highlander uniform and win. You've got to sweat 52 weeks a year and have that vision. Ask yourself the question: how much does a state title mean to you? I'm waiting for the day that 30 + kids and their coaches have that same vision. To be the best you can be. All I'm asking is put your hair gel away and put that X-box controller down and get some of the roughness and toughness back that defines a Highlander football player.

FightingIrish thanks for the information that I did not know. I was hoping to motivate the highlanders to a victory over Grace. Not that they need it, because I'm sure they are. You are right about everyone needing to hit the weight room during the off season, especially those that do not play other sports. You know how it is, when it becomes playoff time and when your team needs a little help to get in, you become a fan of other teams to help yours

Boys and girls, its, its play time!!!

Unaka @ Idle: Unaka has their final regular season game at Jellico. It'll be good for them to just work on what they need to close this off. I'll be there to take care of their water needs.

Happy Valley @ Hampton: Hampton comes into this game after a good win over Chuckey-Doak. It wasn't a blow-out by any means, but it was a solid win. Happy Valley got handled by South Greene last Friday atop Warrior Hill, and I fully expect the same thing this Friday. The Warrior offense is shotty at best, especially against a good defense. Look for the Bulldogs to cruise to an easy win in this one... Hampton-35 Happy Valley-7

Cloudland @ Grace Christian: Cloudland comes into this game hanging on the slimmest of play-off hopes. If they can win this game, they will end up in a three way tie for 4th in the region along with Grace and Jellico. Cloudland won't beat Hampton, so those three teams will end up with the same regular season record as well (3-7). Then, the Highlanders will have a chance, but I don't know how the rest of the tie-breakers go... But that all depends if Cloudland can win this game... Cloudlands backs are too small to out power Grace, and I don't think they can out-run the Ram's defense either. Coach Satterfield will have his boys ready to go to the play-offs, and it will show in the end... Grace Christian-28 Cloudland-24

Elizabethton @ Sullivan Central: The Cyclones kept there slim play-off hopes alive with a win over East last week, but they had better be on the look out for a let down. A loss to the Cougars would put a humiliating exclamation point on the Cyclone’s season, and the coaching career of Eddie Pless at Elizabethton... The Cougars always seem to play up (or down) to right below the level of the team they are playing.. This game will be tight, and regulation won't be enough to decide it.... Elizabethton-38 Sullivan Central-31 OT

Unaka doesn't have to play any pushovers this week so they won't get beat by the good teams :thumb:

28-0 Anyone any good playing the Rangers

Happy Valley at Hampton

The 'Dogs are banged up but not bad enough for the Warriors to pull anything off

28-7 'Dogs

Cloudland at Grace

Enough said

0-0

Elizabethton at Sullivan Central

Elizabethton isn't as bad as they have played but the coaching is as bad as they have played. Central is just bad.

27-14 Cyclones

All this has got the Book down, way down :(

Hampton 35

Happy Valley 10

Elizabethton 31

Central 7

Grace 21

Cloudland 7

1. Hampton

2. Elizabethton

2. Unaka

4. Happy Valley

5. Cloudland

Hampton is the long shot #1 in the county. Elizabethton and Unaka have to be tied 2, Elizabethton may have the slight edge, but the Rangers are very well disciplined. Happy Valley has came a long way this season. Tyler Blevins has really done a good job @ QB, replacing Todd Caldwell. Logan Birchfield is carrying the load, but likely done for the year. Theyre overachieving and have a lot of underclassmen. Cloudland is standing alone by itself. Really a tough year for the Landers. But they have the most success in Carter County in recent years. Hard to replace Mark Byrd, Dakota Benfield, Dane Christman, and Mike Lunsford. They too have some good underclassmen.
