as a goodpasture fan i don't know why anyone would be intimidated to play at goodpasture, we have a normal stadium with a quit crowd for the most part. but as for most intimadating stadium, i can remember in 2003 when macon played smith at macon in the third round. my family and i walked up at half and it sounded like neyland coming down the road - and your man with the fog horn was set up in his front yard at that time as well. it was a great highschool football game won on a end of regualtion 50+ yard field goal and then the posts wore torn down as the fans mobbed the field. awesome football atmsophere there at macon county.

i believe this is the hardest teams to play at home

1A Stadiums

mt.pleasant ( the jungle )

2A Stadiums

loundon

3A Stadiums

giles ( brickyard )

especalliy the tigers and the bobcats because everybody gets behind them. you can barely hear the play on the field there. i cant say much about loundon i havent been there but i have heard that it is hard to play there

Giles County is fast becoming a verry intimidating place to play.

funny thing is [the Brick Yard ] seems to follow this team around!

Was any one at GC vs JSS last friday? It was hard to tell who was the home team.Loudest, best atmasphere I've seen this year,

I have to put Cheatham in here somewhere,

Deep in the woods ,more suited as THE JUNGLE than MT Pleasant.

Welcome to small town football buddy. An old stadium packed with folks every home game who support their football team. An old stadium which seems to hold some sort of home field advantage for the home team (just my opinion but 3 plus years of undefeated region play). An old stadium that no team WANTS to visit. Yeah, your correct... intimidating it is. Oh, and the lighting on the score board works perfectly. Home has been ahead for quite a while....

There's a real reason no one wants to visit, and it has absolutely nothing to do with the fine football program. The lights work...there's just about half as many as needed for proper lighting. And somebody must have been drunk when they decided to put the poles in front of the stands. Riverside has the same issue on the visitors side. High school stadiums in Tennessee aren't going to intimidate anyone. Who dresses out is what intimidates.

As for the 3 years of undefeated region play...Where was the intimidation factor when MP was the doormat of your region? The team and the coaching staff are the reasons for the undefeated region play, not that decrepid old stadium. You were winning your away games in those 3 years, too....weren't you? What does the stands have to do with that?

This is a stupid thread. I have no idea why I am wasting my time posting.

That game still gives me cold chills whenever I pop it in and watch it. The Grundy game was about the same way. To be there well I guess you had to be there in order to know that feeling and it was freaking awesome. I say Macon myself it gets so loud there you have to yell at the person beside you to hear anything.

I don't know about the stadium itself but Gatlinburg Pittmans atmosphere is second to none for 2A. Zillion dollar facillities , Bagpipes blowin , and a kickin band. I always liked going there to play because of that though , it's almost a college atmosphere.

Yeah, the Highlanders had a nice facility....and that was back in 1984.
