montague1
Chad Jordan - Bruceton Central has 1900 yards rushing going in the last game with Lake County. Also, excels on defense and special teams. They would let him drive the bus too if he could get a CDL... Your vote would NOT be wasted by voting for Chad Jordan. Chad Jordan ended up with 2096 yards on the season. This kid deserves to be a finalist.

Pleasant....
926
As far as 2A linemen are concerned, Raye Sykes of Alcoa and Chris Donald of Huntingdon are pre ordained picks. Collin Lancaster of Lewis County should be considered as well. Before this season, he had played MLB. He tore his ACL in the second game of his junior year, thus missing the rest of the season and spring practice. He was moved to DE and became a force. He is still learning the position. Strong, fast, and aggressive he often required double-teams to contain him. He has incredible potential if he goes to a college that allows him to mature at the DE position. I know that he has a very slim chance of winning the award, but he belongs in Murfreesboro with these other two fine athletes.
franko6
Matt Hartsfield has rushed for over 1100 yards this year in 4AAAA. He is one strong back. Great kid with a great spirit. His older brother was Jay Hartsfield. I noticed someone had recommended Jay in an earlier post but they must have meant Matt although Jay and his older brother Nathan have both played for Lawrence County and proved to be very valuable to the Lawrence County team. Matt has scored 13 or 14 touchdowns this season. Edited October 30, 2006 by franko6
GreenMan
By golly is it just me or have high schools in Tennessee quit coaching and practicing Defense? Look at these numbers........its rediculous. So much for "Defense wins championships".....heck out score em'.
bigred4life
Again Coach T I hope you will take a hard look at nominating Baylor's Kevin Cooper for D2 AAA Back. * 6'2 240 lbs *Verbal to UT *Powerful full back with tailback speed *Apprx 1650 yards this year playing defense also. *With playoffs coming up could and should top 3000 career yards...this is so impressive because he did not start running the ball until last year. So 3000 yards in 2 years. Was a blocking back the other years for Courtny Braswell. * Listed as the 5th best fullback in the country by Unapproved Website Edited October 30, 2006 by bigred4life
that86
look at scruggs td runs... its rare for them to be red zone td's... looking in the paper Ive been seeing td runs anywhere from 25 to 70 yards. and last i checked they played almost the exact schedule of the band wagon temple.... so, why doesnt he get the same recognition as Skogens? also lets take a look at strength of schedule if that is the determining factor. Lookout Valley #29 - Temple #50... now please continue with your schedule agrument.

Lookout Valley #29 - Temple #50... now please continue with your schedule agrument. Grant it Scruggs is a good player and deserves to be recognized for his accomplishments, but he probably won't get the Mr. Football Award. Your point about the strength of schedule is not even a factor in this one. LV's schedule is not much different than Temple's. Both schools played: South Pitt (Temple won 53-20, LV lost 56-0) Silverdale (both teams won) Grace (both teams won) Copper Basin (both teams won) Taft (both teams won) Whitwell (both teams won) Different teams played: Lookout Valley -- Huntland, David Brainerd, King's Academy (all wins) Temple -- Sequatchie, Unaka, Oakdale (all wins) **Temple beat Lookout Valley at LV (33-14) And so, the major differences between the 2 schedules is that Temple beat South Pitt by an impressive margin and LV got beat by SP by a blowout. Plus, Temple beat LV. Again, I think Scruggs is a good player and certainly deserves some consideration, but I don't believe he'll get selected for the award. Footballfan15
Matt Arrent from Hillsboro should get a nomination.
Clemson9
Seth Skogen is the best player in 1A hands down. He controls the entire field on offense, he is the greatest threat and is the reason temple's running game has opened up so much....He also has the most potential and is a force on defense...
