Hopefully this will help the water on the sidelines whenever it rains. About time someone got it fixed. This has been a problem for many years.

I thought the turf just layed on the ground, I didn't know it was attached to anything.

In case some didn't know,

I noticed the other day that Halls has ripped up the artificial turf on the sidelines. New drains and natural sod have been installed this summer. As most have seen, standing water along the sidelines has been an issue for a while at Halls. Maybe this will help.

Just to let everyone know. The players themselves were the ones who not only ripped up the artificial turf on the sidelines, but were also the ones who installed the sod on the field thursday. Hopefully by not hiring anybody to do it we were able to save some money for that new field house. lol

good to see the kids putting back into the program in this kind of way, were there any coaches there besides coach J. I'm sure he was there

Nice article in the paper today on the Red Devils. How was the first day? I figured there would be a lot more posts after the first day the team met. Any last minute changes with players or coaches?

I heard that the team didn't practice yesterday. I think the day consited of lifting and running in the AM and I think they went to a drug awareness rally in the PM with the band and other athletes in the school.

I heard that there was some impressive max outs but I don't know the numbers. I heard Caleb Leonard had a great day.

More lifting today in the morning and first practice comes this afternoon. (As far as I know)

The players were timed in the 40 today, not yesterday as the paper said. They also maxxed on the bench today. Yesterday was power cleans. Tomorrow will be squats or deads (not sure which they do).

    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
