SMYRNA VS LAVERGNE

I am surprised nobody mentioned the outstanding td catch hsfootball made that was ruled not in bounds...I had a clear view and both of his feet looked like they dragged inbounds WITH possesion of the ball...yes, it was a close call and the td wouldn't have had an effect on which team advanced to the next round..but it was a highlight reel catch and was sorry to see the ref hesitate then blow the call.

I was also impressed with the airborn hang-time intereception Wilks made...it was like maximum "basketball style" hang time...they ruled he came down in bounds with it - my view was not as good on that one, not sure how you can land next to the ball boy and be considered in bounds, but was also an impressive athletic play.

Both players deserve recognition for superb athletic ability.

thanks, i was really shocked they didn't call it a TD. It will still be on the highlight reel though :thumb: . Hopefully, I can edit out the ref :D .

And yes, Rod came out of NOWHERE! He is a beast, he flashed right in front of my eyes when i looked back at the ball, it was more upsetting that i had a clear view of his feet and he clearly got a foot in, maybe two.

Nrgrizzlies, thanks for supporting LaVergne this year on the T. Along with others like JGera, denmaster, etc. ;);)

Trust me, the comments aren't even worth your time :D

yea, just like some smyrna fans to deny the truth...90% of what i say about smyrna has either came out of their fans mouths, or has been played out on the field. only gray area is with shadowens, where i express my personal opinions on his coaching. i think he is terrible and wins by his talent, but having a 10-2 team, thats sort of a hard one to argue

but hey, tell me i aint right right now, because you'll be telling me i was right 10PM friday night :o

A-rod has had a brusied thigh since after Cookeville.

Chris Gray had tendinitis in his knee since Monday.

Randall had turf toe since Cookeville.

Justin Bather came out the 3rd quarter of cookville with back problems.

Many other knicked up players, but no excuses for what went on last night.

Why don't you go ahead and add a "wait till next year" to that post?

 but are we going to hear the same talk like last spring and summer cause alot was ridiculious

That was my point. It seems like that was the only topic on here this summer..."Lavergne is going to be awesome this year just wait and see!"

You got the talking part down...let's work on the walking part this offseason!

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
