I've seen Munford 4 times this year. Everytime they've been 'out athleted' and still win. They use multiple coverages and it seems like the defensive scheme changes on a weekly basis (alignment, fronts, coverages, blitz packages, etc.) which is a sign of good coaching. They're gonna take something away from you and you better be prepared to use plan B and C. The D coordinator should be on the Hot list for a Head coaching position when the season is over. As far as teams with throwing ability is concerned, Henry County didn't hurt them passing. I expected Hardin Co. with those two stud receivers to do some damage in the secondary. To my suprise, they were shut out for the most part. Covington didn't need to throw much, however, when they did, they didn't complete anything. On a scale from one to 10, I'd say talent wise, they're secondary is a 6 or 7. On an scale of effectiveness, I'd say they were at least an 8. Maybe this helps and good luck to all of West TN this friday.

Thanks, FormerCoach81.

It seems like this matchup is gonna be like a great chess match, check, check-mate! It'll be very interesting to see how this one actually unfolds.

Anyway, best of luck to your squad FC81.... I suppose you know that I'm pulling for all our Memphis teams though. :P

It doesn't really matter to me who wins as long as West TN is being represented well in the title games. I haven't made up my mind yet where I'm going tonight but I'm leaning on Henry- Melrose. However, White Station-Woodale sounds good too. Good luck.

Well tonight we face off against a very good and yes talented Fairley team which I agree with some of ya'll has all the means to beat us. The question is can Munford continue to find ways to win against more talented teams by putting players in position to make plays. I think this will be a close one which the weather may become a factor what do you think. Someone asked about our pass defense and what would I rate it. I would say we don't matchup with Fairely's athletes, common on a state high jump champ example #9, our guys are 5'10 at best but we'll line up and try to figure out a way to find some success. Good luck tonight to Henryland represent region 7 and we'll try to do the same.

Good Luck to you too cougarmike! We will do our very best down at Orange Mound. The kids are fired up for sure! I think you guys can take Fairley, its just a matter of doing it. Good luck and hope to see you next week!!!

Tough game Munford, but a great season. You by far surpassed anyone`s expectations this year.

Thank you. We've work very hard this year to get to this point and I hate it had to end this way but if your good enough to make the playoffs all but one team ends the year with a loss. We'll take pride in a region championship and the accomplishments of this 2006 Munford football team.
