Schedule more teams like Shelbyville instead of Baylor.

No one remembers the opponents only the final wins and losses.

Then take your chances in the playoffs, because Region 4-5A will be the top teams in the state year in , year out. If you dont finish first or second you dont have a prayer.

CC is in a region with 6 teams ( only 2 dont make the playoffs ). That could drop if Cumberland County goes 4A.

Classification should make this a 8 team region.

So your results the next two years could easily hinge on it.

It doesn't look like Cumberland County will be moving to 4A

Cumberland is not moving, they don't want to be in the same region as Maryville.

As for the Raiders - I think it boils down to one thing, depth.

Lets face it the defense held Smyrna to 10 points in the first half then they got tired.

Plus - if you counted the number of good athletes on Smyrna's team and Coffee County's it would be a 2-1 margin (at least) in smyrna's favor.

They already have enough of those teams like Shelbyville in their region.

Franklin County :P

Warren County

Cumberland County :P

They dont have to find easy games. They should win 3 games a year just because they are in Region 3....not only will that get you in the playoffs but it will also get you third place in the region every year.

Just think. 3-7 will get you 3rd.

A well deserved 3rd. :thumb:

I would say that you've got it figured out. Now just go apply for the coaching job and implement all of those plans and bring home the Championship in '07.

Would that be a sarcastic comment or a legit one? Just curious. Me being the coach...hmmm..now that's an interesting endeavor that I would like to tackle. *no pun intended* I just might look into that and see what the school would think about that. :P

They do play Shelbyville.

Thats what I said. They need more teams like that on their schedule.

People remember your overall record.

A winning season of 6-4, 7-3 or better is usually better recieved than 3-7, 4-6 but we played a tough schedule.

Coaches are retained on record; not quality opponents.

That is the reality.

PERIOD

A weird answer??

Instead of lets play better competition and get better as well and be more preparred for tough teams when we reach the play offs the answer is

schedule worse teams?

where would you find worse teams than shelbyville and cumberland county and a couple of your other region teams?

I mean I don't think that is the answer.

I agree to an extent with both, I don't think we need to play baylor... but I don't think we need to go back to playing grundy county and sweetwater.

Maybe Blackman, BGA.. teams like that.
