Best running backs you've ever seen in 2AA?

Clint Brown F/ westmoreland 2 time Mr. football

Dustin Lindsay from Alcoa. Should have been a two time Mr. Football award winner. Tied the state record for TD's while rushing for 2,000 yards his junior season on a state championship team, and did not win. Senior year around the same stats for another state championship team but lost out to the lil guy from Huntington who was hurt for a portion of the year.

 

you would say that he deserved it over patrick turner???

 

as for backs i like jonathan shaub from lipscomb, shaka hill from goodpasture, terrance bell from huntingdon

Scott Dirkson from Smith County. Mr. Football in late 80's

jeffery vaughn-dickson county (late 80's) had scholarship offers to almost every major school, and ran into problems. mr football in 5-a his senior year.

Terrance Bell from Huntingdon a few years ago was a "jaw-dropper" at RB. He had breakaway speed and could cut on a dime. If he wasn't so small he would have played big time college football (Don't know where he is now). If anyone saw that game he had against David Lipscomb in the title game (he broke pretty much every Clinic Bowl rushing record) you know why. Lipscomb couldn't do anything with him at all; if he got by the first man it was just over. If he got to the corner or into the secondary, all the defense saw were his heels. He's the best back I have ever seen in 2A.

Bell does play at Bethel and he was honorable mention all-american last year, and his having another great year this year. Rod Smith from Milan was a great fullback, not the best ever, but worth mentioning.

Yea, I remember Dirkson. He was probably the best I ever saw or played against..

in '88 he ran for nearly 300 yds and I dont know how many td's....Smith Co. killed us

60-0. He was a joy to watch..

Bell was not a finalist.

Rod Smith won it, a guy from Lipscomb was a finalist and somebody from somewhere else maybe a Memphis school.

The best I've seen were Dirkson from Smith County and Clint Brown from Westmoreland.
