House of Troy
I am sure Coach Woods, the staff, and the players all understand what they will have to do Friday night to beat East. They know well how East is playing at this time and if they don't bring their "A" game East will win. Trojan_Faith is a fan not a player, I'm sure East has fans that don't believe it is possible for West to beat East there is nothing abnormal about that type of thinking it is being a FANatic. . Others of us including Justafan are pulling for our team to win, believe our team will win, but know that anything can happen. Let me assure you there is no overconfidence on the part of the Trojan players and coaches they completly respect how well East is playing at this time. EveryonesFan
People keep saying that the game being played at Burke-Tarr is an advantage to Mo West. It's the third round of the playoffs and West is the home team. The home team has earned the right to have home field advantage, so if East had to go somewhere else to play such as Maryville they would not be sayin a word about it. So i really dont see why people are complaining about the game being at Burke-Tarr
PAT4LIFE
SEEMS LIKE A LOGICAL CHOICE TO PLAY AT BURKE TARR INSTEAD OF BURKE TONY WITH ALL OF THE RAIN THIS WEEK. I THOUGHT THE FIELD WAS BAD WHEN WE (JEFF) PLAYED THERE THIS SEASON. IT WOULD BE HORRIBLE ON FRIDAY. WHY HAS EVERYONE BEEN IN AN UPROAR OVER THE CHOICE OF PLAYING AT CARSON NEWMAN. IT WOULD BE SAFER FOR BOTH TEAMS.
BIGR35
I think playing at BURKE TARR will help Morristown East more than people think. Speed kills, and Morristown East has alot of it. I know Mo-west RB #10 can fly, but I am talking about Team speed. Overall East has more team speed than Morristown West.( I have seen both play a few games this year) Morristown West is alittle stronger than Morristown East. ( Size of D-line & Linebacker)Key too the game, will be how Morristown East Hold up too Morristown West physical play. If Morristown East can match Morristown West physical play, they will win the ball game. Soon or latter speed will get you.Go Canes, Beat West! lordofthescreens
If the game is played on a "fast field" at Burke-Tarr rather than at Burke-Toney, then I think M-E will win. Let me say at the outset, however, that I am not knowledgeable of the all the differences between the Burke's, Toney's, Tarr's, MoWest's, and MoEast's. I am knowledgeable in what I have seen in tape, scrimmages, and live performances. My upset special prediction is: M-E 28 M-W 21 I also predict a great football game with two deserving teams which will make NET proud. Nizzi B
i dont understand how everyone says Mo-East is faster than. Where does this come from. Terrell is fast, but Quentin is faster. Team speed, how do you see that east has more? We will just have to see come friday. And you know what you counter speed with? Physical play and hard hits, those fast guys dont like to get hit hard. Why dont you just ask Unicoi, and Tenn High who the hardest hitting team they played this year is.

It was very interesting to me to see the way the stats were stacked considering how the conference ended. Also, according to PrepExtra, West had 134 first downs during the regular season, East had 114; West had 3111 total yards, East had 2938; West scored 47 TD and East had 35; This stat includes playoff games: West averages 39.26 points per game while allowing 8.8 per game; East averages 30 PPG while allowing 18.5 ppg. There is no doubt that East has improved since the first meeting, but so has West. A unnamed web site predicts the score to be: West 35 East 21. I believe it may be closer than that, but I do see West pulling it out. East does not have players playing both ways, which is a plus, but West has two-three players at most poistions who see playing time consistently. This platooning will give West the win.
