I played against both Watson and Mack.I played at Smith Co. They beat us bad my Jr. and Sr. years. Mack had 4 TD's my Sr. year.

 

I see....

Took the chs to mean Cookeville or Central(old Cookeville).I Thought you were in that time frame! So you played against 'em huh! Were they as good against you as advertised?

OH yes. They where the real deal. Watson was one year ahead of Mack.

 

When Watson played they ran the polecat.It would be like some of the shotgun offense of today.

 

They where State champs both of those years if I'm not mistaken.Back then the champion was voted on by the AP.
