Greeneville High Head Football Coach Mike Zeller has been relieved of his coaching duties after eight seasons.

 

Director of Schools Dr. Lyle Ailshie confirmed the decision Friday evening.

 

Zeller will continue to teach at GHS.

 

A search for his successor will begin immediately.

Probably because he failed to make the playoffs for two straight years at a 3A school who elects to play up to 4A.

A good job in one of the best school systems in the state. Strong football tradition with great support and good facilities. The new coach just needs to be a great motivator to get more kids interested in playing football and sticking with the program.

Greeneville has 9 starters on both sides of the ball coming back next year, Including all skilled positions and 2 linemen. On defense they lose 2 inside linebackers including Danny Bannach who was hurt for most of the year and one defensive tackle.
