TheBoredGuy
I remember there being some criticism of the hiring of Stewart this summer over someone else from the school. I wonder what those people are thinking now... ETA: Something else that needs to be pointed out is the undoubtedly hard decision that the coaching staff had to make regarding Melton earlier in the season. Doing the right thing is usually not easy, but I think expecting certain standards to be met and enforcing consequences if they are not--regardless of who the player is--says a lot about this coaching staff. With all due respect, I'd like to suggest as politely as I know how that the content of this thread remain focused on the positives for the kids and the program, and resist the temptation to rehash history which is likely to hurt the feelings of good people. That said, the current staff and those who have accepted new challenges in other places deserve a lot of recognition for their hard work over the past few years. The kids are reaping the benefits in a lot of ways, including but not limited to their wins this season. Thank you to everyone who has supported the JCS football program over the past few years. TheBoredGuy
As far as I am concerned, that was a positive post. I was complimenting the coaching staff for making a hard decision. I'm not attempting to rehash anything, but to give credit where it is due. As for the first comment, that is also complimentary of Coach Stewart for coming into a tough situation with people doubting his ability and doing a great job. If you're giving props to the coaching staff, overcoming those two difficult situations can't be ignored. From an outsider's POV, those are real defining moments of how good this staff is, not only in coaching how to play but also teaching how to live. But to respect your wishes, that's the last I'll have to say on the subject.
TWizzy551
I couldn't have said it any better myself. The coaches are teaching the guys how to win the game of LIFE, and thats what really counts in the end. But.... that gold ball sure would look good at JCS.... Old Timer
this has been a great year...what a way for coach Stewart to kick off his time as JCS head football coach...the job you have done along with your assitances in game preparation has shown...also the spiritual influence the entire staff has had on our young men has been invaluable...this is a special group of young men...they have worked hard and been willing to give it all...the way they have chosen to give all the glory to God has made them champions this year regardless of what happens on the field...now go get us a Gold ball... While my kids attend a rival private school in Jackson, I will be the first to say that Coach Stewart has done an excellent job this year handling "all" aspects of the JCS program. I also want to give a shout out to Seniors Seth Doyle, Greg Wood and Clay Fowler. I have followed your progress thru Dixie Youth baseball, thru Middle School sports and now concluding with High School. Fine young men with outstanding & supportive parents. It has been my pleasure to have had the opportunity to both coach you and admire your progession these last 5-6 years. Keep up the hard work and enjoy the moment. While fleeting, the memories last a lifetime. You have each earned it and deserve it. Count me as one of your fans!! Good luck Friday night! Gocart
This coaching staff is modeling a lot of attributes to their team; a tremendous work ethic, positive attitudes, the will to win, and above all, giving God the glory in every effort, every success and every failure. Hats off to you, guys. Very good job. Edited November 23, 2006 by Gocart
