Fulton vs. David Lipscomb

Throwing my prediction out now . . . I'm sticking to my earlier post. :o

Three points:

(1) If anyone beats Lipscomb - - they will have earned it, it will not be a fluke.

(2) Lipscomb 37 - Fulton 14, my prediction

(3) Giles County and Goodpasture are the only teams to hold Lipscomb to under 30 points in a game. The Giles County defense allow "only" three touchdowns per game. Until someone does better - the AAA "state championship game" - two best teams on a given night was two weeks ago where Lipscomb defeated Giles County by a score of 21 - 14.

Best of luck to both teams, fans travel safe . . . . Bobcats pulling for Region 5 foe Mustangs to bring the Gold Ball home to middle Tennessee. :thumb:

1.) A true wing-T against a decent defense=less than 35 per game...

2.) No team in the state would score more than 28 on fulton...the defense is honestly top notch(Im not sayin this bc im a falcon either...its a fact. fulton has one of the best D's in the country...

3.) Fulton hits big plays often, yes its possible to limit them, BUT with Rogan and freeney(as good as rogan, but not as big, hits hard, very impressive athlete) you can expect some long plays...Im gonna go with 30-21 fulton...and thats my final prediction.

One more thing, while fulton does have athletes, they also have heart, determination, and function as a team...Im tired of hearing the BS about DL's team beats fulton's talent...Heard it for 5 years in a row now, and only 1 loss to any team outside of knoxville area...(Memphis Ridgeway 5 years ago in state championship)...You dont have that kind of success unless your a team...I think alot of the middle and west tenn people will be shocked at how good this fulton defense is...

The most incompetent post I have ever seen on coacht.

You haven't read enough posts on coacht if that's the case.

Your claim in this previous post that a combined Maryville/Alcoa squad would beat any team in the country would probably be considered more of a head-scratcher than olympian's post.

You know what...my team hasn't lost to anyone ouside of our area either for the last two years..... that just meant they were not good enough to get further along...did that occur to you. After some of these Prognostications by Fulton folks.......I don't see how anyone can possibly say they were arrogant!!!......Cocky?????...NOOOO!!!!.... Surely not...yeah right!! That Uncle Ted guy is either bombsquad or the absolute worse pick I have seen on here....wait a minute Uncle Ted must be late reporting back to the Funny Farm.....he lost his pass. Remember what I said about the comparison to Greenbrier earlier.

and most of all ....the perpetual poster who suddenly gets on here and has maybe 8 posts and he is an expert...yeah right!

The moral of the story is simple...Rogan gets stopped or slowed down....Fulton gets served a major portion of sparrow pie.....if he is allowed to run wild....well then....everything happened just like all the "rocket scientists from east Tn" said it would.

I appreciate the fact that the Giles Co fans realize that they fought a good fight and lost....AND did not come on here and talk about the State Championship was "last week".......even Ronnie Carter can't make that happen. That is just another instance of blatant disrespect to this side of the state. Now ..Giles showed some class....that's c-l-a-s-s!

If my memory serves me correctly. Region 2 has a very large number of Quarterfinals qualifiers...and bub..that is about it.. beyond your finalists.....meaning they made the final eight...that's all!!!

Close officiating and the kicking game...wow...!!! Wonder who that favors??????

12 pm today all of the mystery will be over with. Each section of the state should be for their teams!! I think this is the reason they play the game. It is a home game for all mid state teams! At this particular time region 2 is stronger in2a 3a and 4a. High School Football is awesome. Lipscomb no doubt has a great heritage and is the top team from the Mid and West regions. I think Fulton usually does what it takes to win and is a 4th quarter team. They beat LA last year and that was their last defeat on their way to the state title. Fulton went to sleep and Catholic beat them in the play offs. They do make mistakes===just like most athletic teams but their passion to excel usually wins out. So lets play it on the field and at about 3 pm we will know who takes the gold home. Where will the parade be? North Broadway or Franklin Pike.

    • If Dyersburg quarterback who is also starting safety hadn’t got hurt it would of another blowout
    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
    • It will be interesting to see if the Warren County School District allows this to go before a jury or they settle out of court before going to trial.  My guess is that this case never goes to trial.  If this goes before a jury, they could award even more than the $750K.  I was on a jury where they were asking for 185K and were awarded 1.2 million.  You never know what will happen in that jury room.
