i wont see him next year. can we not have fun? i guess Troy Smith isnt that good since he won the Heisman. just because ur friends didnt make it doesnt mean the people that did arent better. just because they go to Ooltewah doesnt mean they are amazing. i watched the championship game and to be honest i dont see how Smyrna beat u. from the 3+qtrs i saw. they didnt look all that amazing. im just tryin to have some fun and u take everything soo serious and to heart even when it has nothing to do with u. but u and the other owl faithful were consistent on saying Marshall was soo much better than Sterling because of 1 maybe 2 games. but if he was so good ud think some one would notice him. but apparently not. oh well. football is over and now its basketball season. btw. have fun choking in baseball again.

oh and im white. so im not related in anyway to Andre.

My boy Marshall had 1723 yards rushing averaging 6.5 per carry with 20 tds. Oh yea he also had 452 yards receiving averaging 18.1 per reception with 3 td's. Oh yea and his team was 13-1.... Looks to me like Marshall is an overall better player than Sterling.

considering Farragut only passed the ball to Sterling maybe 5 times. it wouldnt have been hard to our recieve him. our fullback had more recieving yards in 1 play against u than Sterling had all year. i wish Farragut woulda passed to him more but.. Ooltewah also played one more game. i believe Sterling got over 2000. if he didnt he was within 50. but oh well. im done with this football stuff. the voters voted and they voted Sterling. on to basketball.

edit: IMO Ooltewah is the better TEAM. but Sterling is better than Marshall. i might pop up every now and then next year. cya.

The only way this will be settled from now on is by watching them on Saturday's.

Is Sterling getting any serious offers? Does he have the grades.

just as any all-star list,on any leval, many people are on there that arent deserving and many people are left off that are deserving-congrats to the people who made it and i hope that it helps to bring you sucess in the future-to all those left off that should not have been-try using it as incentive to work that much harder at the next level-in my experience thats all you can do

stan trott,

Why don't you tell everyone how it should be done. I don't have a clue how the TFCA does their selections, but at least they try. Somebody on anuther thread said coaches had to make nominations and send them in. Then the coaches voted on them at a meeting or something like that.

If this is true then the coaches who don't send names in are at fault. Somebody has got to have the answer.

I talked to Coach Monroe about this. He says this is an organization where you SUBMIT your players by filling out a FORM and faxing it or mailing it in. He said it is voted on by members in the organization. SOOOOOO FrienZ your coach faxed the info in and the members voted. It isn't like every coach in the state voted or even like they do in the ALL region..where all the coaches in the region, the ones who coach against these kids, vote. Hey don't worry I heard you were getting and ANDRE STERLING jersey for Christmas...and if your lucky..he might autograph it for you B);)

Even better,

They are both great players and will both be playing somewhere on Sat.

Let them settle the debate next year on the field.

Marshall will get his chance to run even more next year unless the little

Woods skips elementary school and goes straight to OHS.

Ok Here's My Problems With This List

Sonny Grey Threw For Over 2,000 Yards

Rod Wilks Had The Second Most Recieving Yards In State And No One Had More Catches Than Him

Josh Day Had 111 Tackles And Over 20 Sacks On The Year Plus Two Int's

I Don't Know How The Voting Is Done But Seems To Me It Should Be Changed.

State Champs And Not One Person Made All-State?

Go back and read the posts. It is a messed up way of doing things. We (Ooltewah)had one player with better stats than Josh Day! It is too late. But what does this mean ALL STATE. By what association? I don't want to take away from the guys that made it but this is not a measure of the best player for each position. I bet if you go ask your coach at Smyrna I bet he for got to send his ballots in or something. It is a stupid way of doing it.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
