well to everyones surprise Anne Marie won it i couldnt believe that when i read it in the paper!!!! i wonder how close the voting was does anyone know what the coaches thought how many first place votes she got?

RD, that is great to wonder and she is a great player but how many times have you see things happen like this and a bad game or something else happen and RiverDale is out, Euphoria and hype is great but now down to business. Hope you are not concentrating on one player. Teams win championships, always have and always will. Everying now is in the past. the future is now only thing to matter and the next performance and that will be the the only thing till the last game.

I am all for the team in fact if you recall i am the one saying earlier in the year we need to move the ball more and stop watching anne marie play we needed jessica to shoot when she is open but this thread is about 7AAA MVP and i could not beleive some of the posters on here there was no one better than her this year in the district and like i have ALSO said before i am sure she would give that award to anyone for the chance to play for a state championship

how has she done that?? Do we all forget TD droped like 43 on someone this yr.

Not to split hairs, but TD's 43 was against a bad Tullahoma team, AML's 45 was against Shelbyville, the name program when your talking about girls basketball in tennessee, big difference although its no small deal when you break school records as both did in these games

I'm not sure MVP had anything to do with who is better. It is who is most valuable. The games will let fans make their own choice. things going as they are, SEE BOTH SIDES AT siegel SATURDAY AFTERNOON AND YOU MAKE THE CHOICE WHO IS BEST.

This forum is to see who the MOST valuable player of the year is in District 7-AAA. This person is not always scoring, but is the man behind the scenes. In order to be considered for MVP the player must have these qualities:

1. Offense - As stated earlier this person is not always scoring but can score if needed and is never scared to play hard. Finds outlets to score and is constantly working. CONSTANTLY!

2. Defense - To be a vital part of any team the player needs to have a solid defensive game. They must be able to get KEY steals, must be good at denying their man the ball, and be able to get back on defense right after a score.

3. Team Skills - Lastly, this person must be able to work well with a team. This person needs to be able to know when to take a shot and when to kick out an assist. This person is also one that is not pouting.(We all can see this even from the bleachers.)

So when posting be sure to be able to back up the player you nominate with hard core examples not with word of mouth from a game no one saw but something people will be able to agree with. Please BE NICE! ~~~~

DAT,

Interesting post. Sounds like the right girl got MVP. I think ALL the districts should limit their 1st team to 5 or 6 players maximum and give the 2nd team 5 players.

All-district should be a select bunch (or the very best). Too many people want 2 to 4 players from every team. It shouldn't be the all "average player" team.

I think I can agree with tht but not sure how that can be done in 7, 8, and 9 and some other Districts as well as it doesn't mean as much in some Districts as it does in others. Talent level may or may not be the same. The districts know that and it is suggested to leave it to the Districts. but good thought ideally if everything was the same.

sorry man, shelbyville isnt just "someone." like i said, dont take my word for anything, just look at what 7AAA coaches think, what colleges think. the "majority rules" system in america is sorta flawed (after all look who our president is), AML has the majority though, how many folks have to make a case for that for you to buy into it? for whatever reason maybe she didnt win you over this year but i guess she'll have 4 or 5 more years to do that right here in the boro

very true dont forget that RD has a good TEAM...........and AML happens to be the catalyst for that team.........not taking anything away from her because she is a great player and has accomplished a lot

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
