I was told today by another coach that the point spread rule is still in effect. And if it wasn't, why did Grundy still play hard defense?

Their coach knew what we were doing so she was trying to obviously score again.

We strive to play "hard defense" from the beginning til the end of a game! It might not appear that way, but that's the game plan, lol.

The coach had no clue that was what your team was doing. A few days before when we had played Howard, there were major discrepencies with the score on the board, and in the books. At the end of the game, neither scorebook, nor the board matched up. After reviewing the film, our scorekeeper was correct. It was at this time that Coach Woodlee found out the tie-breaker rules to see if TSSAA needed to be consulted about the situation. If the point spread had been a factor, then it would have been a much bigger deal. That is when she found out what the by-laws said about tie-breakers.

Nevertheless...the district meeting will be Monday, and then we will all know who plays who! Good luck to everyone!

Go Lady Jackets!!!!!!!!!!!

Bledsoe and Notre Dame have to make up a game on Monday.....I don't think Bledsoe will lose but the boys game may have more implications than the girls game....

Well here's my question.....

Since the top 4 teams are hosting the first round games....Will the girls play one night and the boys the next? Or are all going to play the same night and parents/fans/rabid student sections and reporters going to have to choose what game they're going to?

Seems to me that smart thing to do is have the girls and boys play on different nights since many schools will have different host/travel status when it comes to girls and boys. Please tell me we're smart enough to split this up on different nights???

My worries are over.

Monday meeting to toss various coins and decide many things.

Grundy, Chatt. Christian and Howard flip for 2, 3 & 4th place. Grundy and Marion men flip to see who hosts play in game. Not sure if there's any more flips.

Wednesday - Play-in games

Thursday - First round girls games. Top 4 host.

Friday - First round boys games. Top 4 host.

Saturday - Semifinals at Hixson.

Monday - Girls consolations and finals at Hixson.

Tuesday - Boys consolations and finals at Hixson.

Seems the TSSAA has a new rule this year that you cannot have more than 2 games on a school night. Thus why the schedule is spread out. Also seems like there's about 2 more nights for gate money.

I don't think the new rule has anything to do with it!

ITs all about the $$$$$$$

    • It was not ACHS at all, they have zero reason to worry about Clinton.  It had to do with a kid (non football player)  that had a charge and appeared in front of the juvenile judge.  The judge saw that the kid was way behind credit wise for his grade and told him to reappear in a month with a plan to graduate.  When the kid reappeared he had more that twice the credits than one month before.  The judge called BS and contacted the school.  That is what started the investigation.  This involves multiple students, but to this point no athletes are involved.
    • I believe the Covington Chargers travel to Trenton Peabody for a scrimmage today? Anyone going to this? Curious how the Chargers will do.
    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
