At 10:35 pm tonight, Channel 2 out of Nashville is doing a story on Lawrence County's coach Wendi (Hartsfield)Scott and Columbia Centrtal's coach

Rachael (Gobble)Moore.

They played against each other in high school, were roommates for a couple of years. Moore coached Scott two years at Tennessee Tech. Now they coach against each other in the same district.

It is suppose to air tonight. Just tought I would pass the word along!

THANKS SHOOTMORE! I just read this post, literally 5 minutes before this aired, and was able to catch it.

It was a great story, or rather IS a great story. Both ladies are class acts, and I agree with Rachel : God placed them there for a reason - no coincidences here.

Good luck to both coaches and teams in post season !

It was a nice bit that sports extra did on these two yound coaches.

I have conversed with Coach Moore on occasion and she is a very intelligent and repsectable coach I hope Columbia keeps her around.

I have seen Columbia play and have seen this coach operate and while I hope she is for Columbia for a long time, you are very lucky to have her and if she wants to, she is destined for something higher IMO. She used to have an asst coach who I am unsure is still there that was in the same situation. Whoever found these two and how they got them to coach on the same team was first a salesperson and secondly a great evaluation of coaching talent. Columbia is fortunate.

a lawrence county/riverdale matchup in the region 4 tournament would be interesting, considering she was an assistant there several years up until last, her husband was an assistant on the football team and her brother played football and graduated from riverdale and is currently playing on scholarship for austin peay. she actually got some experience there too as an "intern" head coach last season when coach burt was serving a 2 game suspension (he was T'ed twice in a game automatic 2 game suspension).

is her husband involved in the football program at LC?

    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
    • What coach in their right mind would want to come here and set theirself on fire to keep her warm.
