I just like the fact that you referred to it as Upper East Tennessee. What is up with all of this NET stuff. Technically if East Tennessee starts at the time zone line then Scott County and Campbell county are in north East Tennessee, but Upper East Tennessee is, as we all know, the Johnsoncitykingsportbristol area. Unless you are from KP then it is Kingsportbristoljohnsoncity or if you are from Bristol it is....... The different TV stations also refer to the cities in different order. I prefer the WJHL way since I used to work there.

Its really no different then referring to the "Knoxville area" or maybe even KIL. I always thought it was alphabetical BristolJohnsonCityKingsport.

knoxville area would have no problem including the TriCities in the mix or Chattanooga as well. Chattanooga will equal Knoxville considering the privates as well as public. But how low would the largest U ET school fall if U ET included the geographical East TN? They would have a fit not being top dog.

Is Johnny Woods or Dave Sparks still around?

Daniel Preston will be someone to watch on both sides of the ball for Dobyns Bennett. Started last year on both sides as lineman. May move to LB if he picked up the speed they say he has in wrestling. Spring practice was in January and DB did not show much, small & slow. Maybe it was the extra 5lbs of mud they practiced in and potential starters playing other sports. Kilgore could produce at LB.

    • Best-of-three sectional series vs East Robertson at home starting Wednesday.  They put us out last year at this point.  Go Pirates!!
    • I don't believe they have anyone that is surbers caliber but a decent staff overall.
    • Richland plays at McKenzie on Wed.  Should be a good series.  Does Richland have good pitching?
    • Congratulations to the Warrior baseball team winning the Region Championship.  Last night the football team beat Franklin Co 33-0 in their spring scrimmage. Warriors looked very good. Missing a few players who were playing baseball but still absolutely dominated. A lot of young ones got in halfway through the 3rd when the score reached 33-0. QB Tilton Pickett looked very sharp.  Sam Pickett is on another level this season. Seems to have put on 15 to 20 lbs in the off season and added a step as well. Transfer from last year Williamson caught numerous balls and is very elusive. Lots of athletes on this team. Defense was smothering and will only get better. The head coach from Sewanee was in attendance and offered 2 kids after the game. Could be a special year.
