Just looking at the post about East TN top teams for next year. I wanted to expand it to the entire state and narrow it to just AAA. Let's hear what you think. Who has the best freshman class coming to compliment their current roster to replace missing seniors? No bashing please, just want people to put their list of contenders out there.

Out of West Tennessee you will see the following competing to make Murfreesboro. In no particular order.

Memphis Northside

Memphis East

Memphis Central

Millington

White Station

The crew from Middle will be a little different than this year.

Wilson County will be contendor but not as strong as this past year. Chemistry and injuries will play more of a factor than talent.

Shelbyville will have the talent but will have to fill some spots that is crucial.

Riverdale cannot replace Lanning except in name but new names will arise and sucess with depend on total program being in tact.

Mt. Juliet will retain speed and quickness and seniors will have to step up as expected

Smyrna will have to develop a player or two to go with a great group coming back.

Cookeville will lose a post but will retain very likely the best post player in 7AAA.

Brentwood High School will again be in the hunt.

Independence High School will get better and be a contendor.

Lawrence County will again improve their squad.ui

It is difficult to know who will come out of Metro as this rejuvinated district is getting stronger.

Without this thread response sounding too condesending and without any disrespect to Coachgat or any West Tennessee teams including both Memphis teams in the ST, every West Tennessee team has a lot of talent and can compete with each other on a very competitve basis and Millington had one whale of a season as well as the others mention. IMO, until generally, the WT coaching catches up with the team discipline and the control of turnovers and becomes a little more structured, the play will not be able to compare with some other parts on the state. Yes there are great players and it appears that these great players are now starting to realize, along with some of the most astute coaches in that part of the state, that it takes only a little more of the above to achieve recognition it deserves.

Not structured? Not comparable to other parts of the state? I'm sure Coach Gatlin wouldn't agree with that. Sounds condescending to me. Like a back-handed compliment.

With teams like East, Northside, Millington,Bartlett,Briarcrest, Lausanne (when healthy),Obion County,

Jackson NS, Westview,Milan,Liberty Tech, Trinity Christian,Gleason (and traditional powers Bradford and Peabody), West Tennessee has plenty of talent, coaching and discipline to get to the State Finals every year and in each classification. The list can go on and on. In fact, it sounded worse than condescending.............but I won't mention the word that comes to mind.
