NorthNorth
QUOTE(jackeddie @ Apr 11 2007 - 05:20 PM) 826435199[/snapback]what is the deal with dyersburg not having a babketball coach yet? Dyersburg doesn't have half the talent Bolivar comes in with year in and year out, plus there is too many problems concerning what all the fans want. Rudesill turned the job down by the way
mrbigster
Today's local paper reported that the Dyersburg coaching position was given to a 26 year old ,Deon Real, with 4 years head coach experience..The paper said he spent last year at Cairo ,Ill. after spending 3 years at Earle Ark....Earle Ark has a population of about 4,000 residents with the school system showing about 364 students ,grades 7-12...Seems to be a school with just a little bit more than Lake Co but considering Lake Co has only 9th thru 12th at the high school..Lake Co would be a bigger school...Hopefully he'll come in and do a good job..Should have a lot more to work with at Dyersburg...With a total enrollment of about 364 students at Earle and maybe half being females, would only leave about 180 males and with a lot of them being 7th,8th and 9th graders ..wouldn't think he would have had a lot to work with..Dyersburg is definitely a step up for a coach with not much coaching experience...But..maybe with him being young.will be able to get players to come out! This should be great news to Dyer County fans, considering Dyer County beat his Cairo team in Carbondale last season 100-70...... /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> ...Cairo is also a small school...1A in Illinois with maybe 200 students... westtnbballer
Well the high standards people established on this board that Dyersburg should hire a top notch coach in my opinion scared away some people from applying. It is great to wait that, but some people thought it was a foregone conclusion. I know there were people with definitely better resumes, including coaches that won state championships that did not even check into this job once they saw what a circus it had become. StevieRayVol
Won the 2A region back to back in two years at EARLE.... Went to the state final 4..... Was only at Cairo where he inherited a 9-20 squad... Must have made quite an impression on the administration.... Several BIG NAMES still on the list..... Mike Tomlin was named Steelers head coach at 34.... Give the guy a shot.... First ever AFRICAN AMERICAN HEAD BOYS COACH at DHS..... It will be interesting....
