I think this game could be a very good one.... But I'm going to give the edge to SP in this one...

Ah, the sun is up, the birds are singing, it's not too hot (not yet anyway). There is a smile on my face, a pep in my step, and a song in my heart. It can only mean one thing ... FOOTBALL IS FINALLY BACK. Friday just won't be able to get here fast enough.

 

This is the 83rd meeting between these 2 teams. And unless I miscounted, South Pittsburg leads the series by 2 games. 2! That is a pretty even matchup when you have been playing for that long and 4 games is all that separates the record between the teams. That could be why there is so much appeal to this rivalry.

 

Hopefully Bill Baxter stadium will be full and loud as this rivalry renews for the first game of the season.

We have been waiting in the dark, ready to pounce at the opportune moment. We have the Gods on our side and we will be victorious when we play the Pirates of SP. Our program will continue to build until we own the Region and all of 1-A.. Only then will we be forced to move up like the rest of private schools, but until then we will start what we have finished..

Thats a very good post friend. that pass was coompleted not to far in front of where i was standing. I guess i can congradulate jasper for that play now but at the time my spirit went from the top of the mountain to the crapper. Your post sums up the feelings of this game for both sides perfectly. I agree with OP and TDS on there post about fridays game. SP should win but this jasper team makes me nervous. I wish I could have seen them play a game before the SP game. I have nothing to judge them on except other posts and the jamboree. I still think the pirates defense will hold them in check enough for the SP win, but they better show up expecting a battle. Good luck to both teams. Respect each other. Let the fans do the hating.
