There is only 1 senior on the New EAST team that actually plays, We had 1 Senior that was supposed to be the starting Q-back but he quit , week of game 1. East is a very young team, only maybe 4 Juniors, As for the chirpers from Centerville, if they lost all the kids from East , they would be in a bad situation right now. The few Seniors/Juniors that were recruited to stay ( Brainwashed ) and turn thier back on EAST , are all very key players , take away the one "KEY" player recruited from Fairview , they have nothing , trust me folks, Centerville is riding this as far as they can. But it is all shallow and false, they are enjoying the fruit that East has produced. With that said I dont think having these kids will give them the wins they think they will get, history dictates, Centerville equals failure, some way they will figure out how to lose this year too. The dog must eat, ha what a joke, hope he dont eat any any of that nasty bar b que.

 

Okay, that is about all the stupid crap I can stomach from the EAST. It takes a real idiot parent to move his or her child from a top ranked coaching program when everything is looking so good and the child has good options at an education and is already being looked at, to go to a team that will be struggling for a couple of years. Yes, East has some great athletes, I have 3 sons and they are descent themselves and we are zoned in the East part of the county. Yes, I chose to leave my sons at Centerville. They are Jrs and have been with Coach Swenson from the start. I don't look out for the BIG EAST MOVEMENT, I look out for sons' education and future. If you let a stupid rivaly rule that decision, then I think you need to look in the mirror. You are making some very uneducated statements.

Consider yourself lucky you had the choice. The school board could have made everyone go to their zone or pay out of zone tuition or they could have started with a freshman class and added a class each year like they did at Sycamore. In the big picture, this is a 3-4 year transition stage and the who stayed and who left animosity will be gone. But the rivalry is here to stay! Bank on it.

Your correct. The rivalry is good for both schools(money wise). But, we came from Sring Hill, the rivalry game(against Columbia's Central) brought in more money and people than any other game. However, at the end of the game ,both sides met in the middle(parents,player,and teachers) and caught up on old times and had a laugh or two. It was friendly, noone would dream of allowing it to influence their decision when it came to their child's education. Nothing wrong with a rivalry for either school, just needs to be handled better by both sides.

ha ha VICTORY is a non factor in the case.But several real stars that actually matter are playing in the Mighty town of Centerville should have came to East where they belong. It just shows what you really care about , had the right kids come back to where they went thru elementary/intermediate/Middle School, where they learned to play football,where they live, the team would be better off the first year, but that is ok, They will only get better and stronger.......It is not all about winning,.....and VICTORY is definetly a non factor in the scheme of things. "EAST" is where they belong. Coach Swenson is a good coach, great guy, cant say anything bad about him, many kids from Centerville I love dearly and hope they do awesome this year., . But when East rises up out of the dust and the train is rolling.......... know inside yourself you had nothing to do with it. Victory.....gimme a break .

You obviously only read part of the posts. I wrote you had a game under your belt and it was Waverly's first game From game one to game two makes a big difference for a lot of teams. READ the posts for goodness sakes. Not making excuses, it will be a close game I think. It's homcoming too!

Obviously this guy hasn't watched much 4A football from the metro area, to make the statement that 2A is much more competitive. Lewis County is always good, Fairview decent, but no one is even close to Hillsboro, Maplewood, and schools like that. Top to bottom, Hickman County is playing a completely different level of competition compared to the last several years. And it's going to be "tough to compete" for a while...HC is 2-0 with wins over Marshall County and Fairview. Defense has only allowed two touchdowns all season. I think they're holding their own on the football field. Should be undefeated going into the Lewis County game. Great job Dawgs!

everybody keeps talkin about east hickman high school is doing bad....... well wait 2 more years then it will be the other way......... there is a strong and athletic sophmore class comming to be seniors in 2 years then they will controll there district........along time ago they was a donkey that got in a well hole and the owner of the property had no way to get the donkey out of the hole so they had to bury the donkey alive then when they were throwing the dirt the donkey would scream and stomp its feet then when they still kept throwwing dirt on the donkey the donkey did not scream they would throw dirt in the hole and the donkey would step on the dirt and the donkey started to get closer to the top and that donkey got closer and closer so the donkey jumped out of the hole................EAST eagles is that donkey that got sick of the dirt getting thrown on its back it and steped up........... well why dont u give us are eastpeople who came to east all their lives and still live in east...... just when ever the east kids were comming back to east for the NEW EAST school and some of them centerville coaches and teachers were talkin the east kids to stay in centervillethat is the reason we dont have a strong team THIS YEAR....but......2more years thats going to be a blow out against centerville.
