So Lebanon took this one on a late field goal? Is that right? I told you guys that they get real worked up being made the Homecoming opponent.

 

Late field goal and pretty much drove it down their gut on the last possession. Lebanon played incredible the second half even with Gray/Wilkes hooking up for 3tds.

Didn't we have the choice of Smyrna, Riverdale, or Lebanon? Eek. None of those are fun, and they just got that much more less.

No...not hating.....just know from experience that they beat us on Homecoming too. They came back on us late just like they did Smyrna.

Couple of stats from the Lebanon - Smyrna game. LHS had 70 snaps on the night, SHS 36. Lebanon limited Smyrna to six plays from scrimmage in the third quarter and seven yards. Sallis (14) was 10-of-18 passing for 142 yards and three TDs. He also scored one himself on a two-yard run. He led Lebanon with 89 yards rushing on 18 attempts, mostly on the QB trap and sneak.

 

Sonny Gray finished 13-of-21 for 214 yards and three scores. He went to the hospital for X-Rays after the game. His right (throwing hand) was banged up on the final play -- a Cal vs. Stanford type of lateral thing.

 

Also, Lebanon NEVER punted in the game. They faked it everytime, converted three (two completions and one by penalty) for first downs. Coach Shad said after the game they knew the fakes were coming and still couldn't stop them.

"may" have been the region chamionship game I say "may" because right now Smyrna is just like everyone else playing for a playoff spot

 

lebanons coach knew he couldn't stop smyrna and he was right

 

1st half - 3 possesions 3 tds

2nd half - 2 possesions (3 counting last 20 second hail mary series) 1 td

 

 

he faked a punt on 4th down on his on 10 yard line and folks it was 4th and 12 if that gives you an idea of his game plan. He decided heck we cant stop em anyway so who cares here they get it.

 

 

theses are 2 very good fb teams and who knows may meet again in the play offs

 

 

congratulations to lebanon you now have the drivers seat in the region and are the best team I have seen all year.

 

smyrna - keep your heads up after all believe it or not smyrna has lost a fottball game before as a maater of fact they lost 2 last yr.
