CCHS has some very good freshmen players this season, Bowen 6'2 175 starting varsity qb now, had bad stats last week but there were 4 drops and his 2 pics come from another 2 balls being taken from recievers, burke is a punisher at lb and is big and strong enough to start next season, lewis is playing really well at tb and they also have some big strong linemen and recievers. the freshmen are 2-1 with their only loss to Rhea Co's JV 26-24. Now if theyll just stay and not get hurt theyll be okay in the future.

After an off week the offense should be much more in sync and hopefully can begin to produce some points, they probably wont win, they just need something to build upon. If anyone is at this game please send me an in depth overview of the game to stuartnewob@yahoo.com Ill be at practice and wont be able to listen to the game

Getting hurt, that is the problem for small teams, no depth. Look at Stone, they have sophmores seeing lots of playing time because for the injuries. Good Luck to the Jets! The freshman game should be good, I pick Stone by 14.

Squad they haven't scored a point this year yet. You would be saying the same thing if your team was in the same boat. How is cumberland co.`s freshmen look? Anything look bright in the future?

I feel for CC...just not this week.

By the way, don't ask these guys about their freshmen, they'll take off with it!

At least they can be optimistic about the future. That's one of the great things about sports.

    • I have no idea who your team is, but Memphis and other Shelby Co. schools have hardly made a dent, if you’re talking Game 15 appearances. Outside of a couple by Whitehaven, I can’t recall the last team in a final.
    • Robbed you guy at a chance of 3 state championships. You never kne, sond best team in the west my have beat you also, but you sure deserved the chance to play um.
    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
