Your assessment of the number of penalties called in this game is somewhat incorrect. I also never saw any pass that went one foot either. I find your "CHEATING REFS FOR JCS Syndrome" comment to be rather distasteful as well. I certainly do not think that your comment represents the views of most of the Milan fans. However, your comment can give Milan fans a bad name. I would hope that you might do the right thing and retract your comment.

The bottom line is that this was a good football game between two very good programs. Your comments take away from what some might consider to have been a classic showdown between two programs meeting for the very first time. Good luck with the rest of your season. Perhaps we will get an opportunity to have round two in November.

I love JCS because it's one of the finest, if not finest institutions in West TN. They have classy fans, players, etc.... I may have been out of line when I called them out, but I promise you that's just the feeling around HS football regarding the refs. The intentional grounding was on JCS's 2nd to last drive, but it didn't really matter because yall had to punt because it was a 3rd down play. I overreacted, but if you're a fan of a team that has 12-15 penalties against 1, then you are going to be upset especially with a lot of no calls the other way (intentional grounding, coaches wanted a facemask on JW but refs said they grabbed the back of his collar even though JW went face first which defies physics if the guy grabbed his collar.) Good luck to JCS, and I feel for you guys that you don't have the opportunity to easily defend your 1A championship. I hope to see yall in November, and I'm sorry for any distasteful comments I made.

Yup...got injured last year during a game at Memphis...forget who they were playing...he was an AWESOME player

Cracked a vertabrae and kept playing till the end of the half. He actually hit the opposing player so hard he broke his own neck. Rod was playing his good friend Day Day Walker and Arkansas State.

He broke his neck and will never play again. He knows he will never play again. He still reports to practive every morning at 5:30. He has never missed a team meeting, He has never missed a film session, and he still encourages and helps his team mates every way he can. heckuva guy. I feel privledged to know him.

that is a leader

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
