What a great game, did not end the way I like but This Oneida team is so much better than it was 3 years ago. T.L. has them really Rocking on Def, and the Off keeps showing spurts of where they are heading. Coach Wright knows his X's and O's. Brewster has made a big change from the way they looked last year. The JV is undefaeted. This program is headed in the right direction. I don't think the Harriman Off will be able to handle the preasure of a Oneida Def,I pick Oneida by 14 and we will see the little injuns in the fourth Qtr, late but we will see them.

I agree . I think Oneida coaching staff has done a great job. They have taken a very young team and made them contenders! I didnt expect to be a 10 and 0 team this year. I didnt even expect to play as close with the talented teams that we have played this year. because of the work and time the staff has put in with these kids the future looks good. alot of fans expect to see wins, and a winning season every year. with an easier schedule we could of had it this year. If the season ended today I would be completly content. I will even say impresed with what oneida has been able to do . Our offense looked a little better this week ,with receivers adding some yards. If we are able to mix it up friday night , we should do good. We give alot of credit to our kids and they deserve it . they have giving a good efort every week . I hope everyone understands how much work our coaches have done and the extra they have give to make them what they are on and off the field.Yea I have enjoyed this season and im going to miss it when its over.GO INDIANS !

Tough call in this one. You've got a very quick offense in Harriman that can tack on rushing yards like an odometer and possibly the best defense in ALL of East TN in Oneida in what should make for a very interesting match. But both teams have their flaws. Oneida's offense has been inconsistent this year and Harriman's defense gives up too many yards at times as experienced in the Sunbright game, giving up 310 total yards to the Tigers. This is almost too close to call but I think Oneida takes this one by one point in a relatively low-scoring affair.

I like the Indians in this one. I don't see a lot of teams being one dimensional like Harriman has been this season and being real effective against Oneida. Plus Harriman's defense was exposed last week and I just can't see them making huge strides in a week.

For Harriman to win, they'll have to make some plays through the air. Not a ton, but they'll need to complete a few passes to keep Oneida honest.

The Hood kid gets in more trouble than the rest of the team put together from what i see and hear. He will be very lucky to live through high school at the pace he is setting... but they did miss him badly on defense i believe.

I am told he wont be playing this week as well from the concussion he suffered?

Oneida does not seem to have problems stopping speed player, It seems like they have more trouble just getting off the field. The defense lets teams get out of 3rd and four by getting 5 yards not a big play just a lot of just barely getting the first downs. When you have a team that young sometimes they don not think they can do it. I have not been this excited about football as I am today. keep working boys you have looked better each week and maybe you will peak in the playoffs

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
