Mcminn Central is coming off a 47-0 win over T.P. which helped them discover which younger players could step up and help the team with the game. With them finding that out i'm sure it will help them in the long run. Now whats everyones predicitions on the Mcminn Central and Grundy game i'm sure they will want to extend their winning streak to 7 games thats right 7 games man its good to be a charger fan this year. GO CHARGERS!!!!

got to say central looked real good even though tellico is real bad. grundy struggled and was beaten by a below average seq team. central is focused, fired up and ready to go into the game at polk with a seven game win streak...that doesn't mean they are over looking grundy, that just means they know how big this game is. i don't think the grundy purple jackets(never understood that) don't have a chance in this one. derrick will get them ready and they will put there best effort on the field. not ready to give a prediction score on this one...it will be a dominating win, though. GO CHARGERS

I keep hearing good things about Central's Offensive line. Everybody says they can line up in the wishbone and run against anybody. How many seniors do they have? or will they have them again next year? The O line will get tested when the Chargers visit Polk.

i may be wrong..but i thing bogges #50 is the only senior up front....yes the will line up in the wishbone and run the football down your throat and wear you down. they will have a good test at polk, but they opened holes up against meigs that my grandma could have ran through...they will do the same against polk. i may be wrong about the seniors, though...i know there is only 8 seniors on the team! looking even better next year!!

first i have known coach derrick for a while .sec sometimes no matter how much a coach stresses how important a game is there is a chance of a let down after a team has won big and has been on a win streak.dont take this wrong mc fans but mc is primed for that to happen. sometimes it gets in the heads of these kids that they cant be beat .and when and if they make mistakes or just plain come out flat they get beat or the out come is very close.grundy is a team that can sneak up on you .confidence is good .but swelled heads bust.good luck this week against grundy.and we will see yall at polk

I have been going to watch Central for over 30yrs. But lately all you hear and read is about Central and how good they are as well as their coaches, but I bet none of you young folks that get on hear remember the Sock Hill bunch. The best coaches Central ever had or ever will have is Coach Rich and Coach Darty. If you young kids could have played for them you woudn't be blowing your own horn and you sure wouldn't be doing drugs. These coaches coached football like it should be, hard nosed and they didn't tolerate any crap from the players and they sure wouldn't want all of our fans on hear blowing us up. Remember you take one game at a time and you respect everyone. I wonder why we have a bad name when it comes to sportsmanship and having respect toward other teams. Coaches like this is what you young kids need as well as a few adults on here. Smokey04 and all you other supposed fans you need to quit blowing smoke and the coaches. Let the kids prove what they can do on the field playing not runnin their mouths. Every game I have been too players are in the other teams face mouthing after every play that is not the way the game should be played and we would have been kicked off the team if we had done that when we were playing or would have never of seen any playing time. The coaches at Central have a long way to go before they could ever fill those coaches shoes!

Good Luck and Go Big Blue

the players know what it is like to be on the other side and i believe they will do everything they can to stay on the side they are on now..the wining side. you bring up a good point, though..they are primed for a let down being as young as they are, but it think and hope they will keep in the back of thier mind what it is like to go back to the other side! good luck against seq..i think central and polk will come into the game off big wins. GO CHARGERS

i respect your opinion, sir. i am sorry if i offended you in any of my posts. but i am just on here SUPPORTING the chargers and having a little FRIENDLY trash talk with other members. there is nothing wrong with that. i am not blowing smoke. i talk about what they have done on the field and what i think they will do. and if you don't think that this coaching staff lead by brandon derrick has done a fantastic job you are out of your mind and obviously don't know football. plus nobody ever said that derrick is the best ever. i just said that he is the best up and coming coach in the area. which he is. and what games have you been to? i have been to every one and not seen anything that would have been out of line...except the jamboree and that was taken care of by derrick. again i am sorry if i offended you on here but don't tell me to stop "blowing smoke" i have the same right to post as you do.GO CHARGERS

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
