I agree. Bruceton did the same thing at Huntingdon. Holding the ankles and chop blocking. Ended a promising

D1 college career for a young man in huntingdon that was more of a man than the whole Bruceton line put together. Coaches and officials should be held more responsible for this kind of crap.

How many times do you have to be told that on the line it is't called chop blocking and if your guys didn't stand straight up people couldn't hit them in the leg's to begin with. As far as the D1 kid his own coach said that no one hit him on that play and that he was trying to make a cut and pushed off that leg and it gave. One Question, why would a guy that is barely 6 foot and maybe 200lbs stand stright up to hit a guy twice his size. And oh yeah htown5 if it't so dirty why does huntingdon and every other team that playes against bruceton hit the knees and sometimes even sometimes the ankles of their fullback. Alex Matlock, everytime he got near them. hmmmmmmmmmm. Another thing bout he injury...

...It's football stuff happens. Like it or not.

We recreated are O line after the TCA game. and have dominated every since. Wut people don't know is that. GC didn't have the scrimmages everybody else. We didnt have as much practice as everybody else did. Nobody knows wut we went through this summer and we just now have got to where everybody is in the right positions

If, as you say, you have "dominated," why haven't you won? Don't tell me about beating West Carroll and Dresden. Everyone beats them. I ask again. What quality opponent have you "dominated?"

I don't care how small you are play like a man and hit somone in the jaw. It's not football to dive at somones feet so they'll clog the hole or can't release to hit your linebackers. Being a good lineman actually doesn't have that much to do with size. You can get in the weightroom and get strong. Playing on the line is about technique and want to.

What if a 6'6" 340 lineman gets in the weight room, gets strong, plays great technique and has lots of "want to." Who wins, my guy or your guy? Actually, clogging the hole and protecting your linebackers is good technique for a def. lineman.

This was after he had been held by the ankle and chopped all night. his mcl, and acl was torn, and also had cartilage damage.this doesnt happen by cutting the wrong way. his surgeon told him that this was from repeated hits to the same knee. one of his friends on the bruceton team told him that this is just the way your line blocks. like i stated before, if you just dont have the talent, you have to do what you have to do. You also dont have extreme bruising on the side of your knee from cutting the wrong way. ask your center and guard about it, they know what was going on. back to the topic of linemen, good luck to yours the rest of the season, they are real men.

My pick is split is between Milan and Westview. I've been to every Milan game and seen the 300+ yards rushing game in and game out. They are not dominate but they get the job done in the run game. I haven't seen Martin play yet but from their record, I will put them in the top two. USJ's line is considered but not one of the "top" right now I don't think.

Who is 6'6" 340? Don't see too many of those in high school(I never have). USJ and JCS were diving at the feet of our 220 lb. guards. I've seen guys outweighed by 70 lbs. whip a bigger guy.

I notice you didn't answer my question, but I'll answer yours. Chad Clifton[ Westview], Toby Champion[Humboldt],Will Offenhuesle[Westview], Justin Harrell[Westview] are a few locals that come to mind. Actually, a couple of those are taller than 6'6". Your guards are only 220 lbs.? oooh! What school is this? Now , I've answered your question. Will you answer mine? By the way, I saw a 110 lb. girl knock a 230 lb. drunk out one night, but I don't think she had any upside as a dt.

Westview's line is very impressive and is the reason that offense is putting up so many points! Milan is at the top too though, should be a showdown Week 10 but we'll take it a game at a time! /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Westview starts 3 sophs. in th oline.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
