Science Hill comes in at 3-6 (1-4). Last game: L 26-13 v. Karns

Dobyns-Bennett comes in 6-3 (4-1). Last game: W 38-3 v. Campbell Co.

I can't wait for this one. I will be coming from Nashville for the weekend. I hope it is a good game. Toppers, I hope you all come come out in force for this game.

I don't think it will be pretty and the score will be whatever GC wants it to be. You don't lose to a team that is 1 and 7 coming in and then get ready to play the Indians.

The only comments I have for this game with D-B is . . . Its been 13 years since we beat D-B and 27 years since we have beat them in their own back yard.

 

With the way things have been going for us, I don't expect any good luck, good bounces, and good calls from the refs. All odds are against us. D-B looks to be running in stride and we . . . uhh . . . we . . . well, I have no words.

 

Toppers, just give it all you have on the field and when it is all said and done and you have given it all you have . . . you just never know, that is why we play the game.

Good advice Powerplus. Just leave it on the field andmake those Indians rember a good game.

One thing to remember is that Gilligan and Science Hill has nothing to lose in this game. Their out of the playoff picture, don't have to hide any plays from scouts, and don't have to worrie about injuries to key players. Also if you remember Smith said he was going to bring a new style of football to east tn. He said it wouldn't be unuasual to see them fake punt, go for it on 4th down, fake field goals etc, etc. Since he pointed to this game with DB when he first arrived in Johnson City, and since he has nothing to lose, I look for Gilligan to throw everything but the kitchen sink at the Indians. A win over DB would actually put him in a positive light in Johnson City and everybody would think he's turned things around. Another thing to consider is with this style of "desporation football" if a team has some luck along with it and the other team "dumbs up" it can really change the outcome of the game. But then again if you remember at the first half of the season when DB was 1-3 and Science Hill 3-1 there was alot of talk coming out of Johnson City and they were chomping at the bit. The DB coaches and players remember this and it will be a factor.

After the game last night with CC,I said SH must not have very much.Today,what SH has is nothing to loose and I'm not sure what risking any futher injuries can gain DB in this game.I think GC will do as he did last night after he sends a message to washington county.It was great to see number 30 show what he could have been doing all along.He is fast and every time he has been in a game this year or in'06, he has done well.The defense done the smart move again this week,except didn't wait until they drove the ball down the field. A four man front with #18 and #33 at linebackers.It shut them down until we gave #33 a rest and they moved the ball about 25 fast yards.
