If I had to guess Coach Roberson is still chewing their butts out from how they played against Cannon..... I can promise Coach will have them ready to play in week 11..... He won't know who he's playing until saturday sometime.... If he knew who he was playing right now I'm certain he'd be preparing for them but since the playoffs in AA this year are totally different than any other class, he doesn't have 2 weeks to prepare for one opponent he has to prepare for all of them.....

He better focus this week on his team and not another one. BACK TO BASICS! NO MISTAKES! I hope you are right about him having them ready to play and I have already been saying that I think the boys will be ready to play. I just wish I was not having people tell me that the coach had been "bad-mouthing" the team and saying how all of them just laid down on him last week. I know you must prepare for who you are going to play, but you can not let them dictate what you are going to do. Again, BACK TO BASICS, hard-nose football is what this team has the ability to play. And I hope next week if something happens and things don't go our way right off the bat that the staff doesn't lose their cool and totally forget what has worked for us this year like they did in Woodbury. I am not taking anything away from Cannon because as I have said they were ready, but once we were behind, the staff began to panic. At that point it could have been worse than it was and I will say it again the opposing coach showed alot of class. Anyway, I hope the boys work hard and get their heads back on straight and play up to their ability.

Go Warriors!

From the posts on another thread it looks like we will have a re-match with Tyner in the playoffs. I can only remember 1 time when Bledsoe had a re-match in the playoffs that the same team both games. Bledsoe in '86 beat York twice, next week lost to Chatt. Central that they had beaten earlier. In '83 beat York that they had lost to earlier in the year. And someone help me out the re-match against Sequatchie that Bledsoe lost the second facing, I can't remember the year. I think that was the year Coach Brown had gotten thrown out of the Smith game and missed that loss. I could be wrong about that one, but I don't think so. How many other re-matches have we had? Anyway, if that is correct and we play Tyner...if we come out and hit them in the mouth we can be in that ball game. We will have to play very physical and very disciplined and the staff must not get frustrated and will have to stick to hard hitting, slow-paced, old Warrior football...but we can play with them.

Go Warriors!

Nothing will be for sure until TSSAA tells the match-ups on saturday because there are so many scenarios that can change who we play....

cocoacrisp i don't think anyone did anything really "wrong" but we had alot of people who didn't do anything. the administration did not act or react to an employee having to be escorted out of the game by the police. it wasn't like this was a hidden fact as we all saw what was going on prior and what happened. not sure exactly the words but after what was displayed at the marion county game you would have thought that problem would have been addressed. i was told that at the marion county game one of the coaches went over to that group of people and told them to be quiet. that means that everyone had recognized the problem and in all reality after having to lock down the school during the week the administration should have been on top of their game in regards to anything that could create a problem. as for the coaches they are in charge of the football program. if they knew of the problem that was going on (and they did) then they should have either addressed it or asked for some help from the administration. in truth that is one of the jobs of the athletic director. as for practice and how it is going, we should leave the cannon game where it is and focus on warrior football. throwing the ball deep and giving up on what works is not gonna win us a play-off game. giving the ball to watson, play-action with colvard and getting the ball to thurman works on offense. truthfully i haven't been impressed with the defense all year but we must be consistent. quit trying to blitz and make some big play...play good technique and safe coverage with help deep, be good tacklers and look for turnovers and we will be fine.

I guess since no one corrected me I was right about the re-matches in playoff games. Of course all this complaining and questioning about who plays who would be eliminated if we just sent the region champion like it was done until '85, could have been '84, but I don't think so. I must admit that as glad as I am about making the playoffs, I wish only the region champ made it, or at least only the top 2. Guess I am just a little old school. BCHSWAR, as far as your ideas of the type of football we should be playing, I could not agree more. When our staff starts to panic and starts trying to get it all back in one long pass, something bad happens. Colvard has alot of ability to run and throw the short play-action passes as well as throwing those "hot routes". On defense, your right just sending the middle linebacker hoping he makes a big hit will not work in post season. We must settle it done and play smart and stop the run and stop giving up the big pass plays. That comes from a sound, disciplined scheme and not just guess work and hoping you guess right. Eventually, a smart team will beat you playing like that and come next week, our TALENT alone, that has carried us this far, will need to be helped out a little. I also agree with running the ball alot more, but I will say it again, give the ball to BROWN more. Watson is a good back, but everyone keys on him and he can't do it all, why not use your other equally good back more?

Go Warriors!
