East Robertson (Curtis Woodard)

Yeah I remember Coach Brown coaching East during those years; I have emailed the TSSAA website to see if they could dig up the stats for me if they have them on record.....

If you happen to bump into to him ask him if there is anywhere they have records kept of his stats if you dont mind that is. I would really apreciate it. A friend of mine does not believe what I told him about Woodards yard-per-carry average his senior year so I am trying to get someone to post it on here w/o saying anything about it.

Oh and yeah, I couldnt make it to the Cascade game and I was wondering what happenned there.

Good luck this week against WC.....

The TSSAA probably won't have any stats because he's not listed in any records. He either didn't meet the record or they just didn't turn in his stats...

Last option on the page (Show me all state records), down arrow, Football.....

Yeah I checked all of that and I know of other guys that should have been on that list too but they were not.

For example Tremaine Turner and Sanantonio Beard should be on there as well as Shaub who played at David Lipscomb. They should all be on the most yards gained in a season b/c I know they all had seasons over 2200 yards.

I plan on checking the Robertson Co. library if I cant find anything here b/c I know they have all of the old newspapers on record there.....

I have still been asking around and searching and I just cannot find anything.....

If you know anyone that works at any of the factories in Springfield ask them. I believe he works/has worked at one of them within the past year. I'll ask at this one.

The one trait that sticks out about Woodard and James Cook (ER's tailback after C. Woodard), is they ALWAYS fell forward-absolutely NO dancing or waiting. Seems like ER's backs used to always line up nearly 10 yds behind the line and when they hit, they were wide open/full speed.

I went up and watched them play a few times that year and he was just a man among boys. He looked like a high school player running against a Jr Pro team. His yards per carry was so high due to him usually only running a few times and scoring each time. He would break off two or three 50 or 60 yarders, score, and they would put the game away.

Just ask anyone who played at Lambeth in 1992 how good he was. Maybe 7-8 carries 250 plus yards 3-4 TD. I wish I had exact stats. I am just using memory. Curtis was not very tough in college though. Only carried the ball a few times a game and rarely got hit. He did however act hurt or tired a lot. I have always compared him to a go-cart. At practice when he would make a cut his legs never slowed. He would throw up dirt and loose particles(lots of rocks and things at Cumberland back then) like a go-cart accelerating out of curve in the gravel.

I guess his "sprocket side" would have been the leg that he broke in the Jo Byrns game. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

I worked at UNARCO a few years back and I worked w/ a guy that played w/ him and graduated the same year or year after Curtis did.

He would be able say what his stats and stuff are but I want to find something I can post here. I will just scan and post some old newspaper clippings if and when I can find them.....

Curtis Woodard played running back for ER in the late 80's/early 90's. I believe he won Mr.Football in 1991 and had some pretty amazing stats.

I have done some research to see what his stats were his senior year and have been unble to find anything.

I am interested to see how many yards/TDs he had but even more interested in his avg. yards per carry; I heard a really mind boggling number and just want to see if comes from another source as well.

Thanx for any info if anyone has any.....

I may be wrong, but I do not believe he was eligible his senior year. But I was told he won Mr. Football his sophomore and Junior year. Know a guy that played with him at Cumberland.

    • The amount of people pooing on UH is crazy. They're a noticably better team than last year when they made state and were competitive , AND they run ruled Eagleville a few weeks ago. Now I understand Eagleville was missing a few guys, but they still. They. Run. Ruled. Eagleville. 1st single A team to run rule Eagleville since when? Pre 2017??
    • If that Yellow Paint is all gone I'll flat bet it didn't wash off there. I bet that took some scrubbing to remove that if it is gone. Lacrosse is one of those northern sports all these misplaced Yankee's that are posion to the community brought in by  (Blount Partnership, ( The Devil) with them so somebody allowed them to paint their markings on the field that cost more than the twenty top people on payroll at Maryville make a year. All this to please the 1% Club and the 25 people that would come to see it. All in the name of WOKE!!!!!!
