Fans With Teams Out Of The Playoffs

I will most likely be going down to Newbern to catch the Haywood-Dyer County game....Dyer County(10-1) I believe gets the shaft for winning their region....Haywood(9-2) is the most dangerous team in West Tn in 3A.....Tough draw for the Choctaws...DC beat the Tomcats earlier in the season but it was only 14-9 in Newbern....Probably going to see a defensive struggle again this time around......

Other games in what will be a big nite in West Tennessee with some big match-ups.....

1A.....

Fayette Academy(5-6) @ McKenzie(10-1)

Bruceton(8-3) @ T.C.A(9-2)

I believe this will set up my game for next week....T.C.A @ McKenzie

2A.....

Goodpasture(10-1) @ Camden(8-3)...Camden's season comes to a close

Huntingdon(8-3) @ Milan(10-1)...Won't be a repeat of the season opener..Milan wins

Peabody(8-3) @ Carver(5-6)....Peabody gets their shot at Milan next Friday

3A.....

Haywood Co.(9-2) @ Dyer Co.(10-1)...DC won't play D-Burg next week..Haywood wins

Dyersburg(10-1) @ Mitchell(8-3).....I'm leaning towards Mitchell right now..Still picking D-Burg

Bolivar(7-3) @ Fayette Ware(7-4)....Fayette Ware won the first time around...Bolivar wins this one

4A......

Fairley(8-3) @ Henry County(10-1)...Watch out for the boys from Paris....Henry Co

Kingsbury(7-4) @ Melrose(8-3)...Kingsbury won the earlier game...It wasn't at Orange Mound though...Melrose

5A.....

Whitehaven(10-1) @ Millington(11-0)...Whitehaven ends Millington's perfect season

Houston(9-2) @ White Station(11-0)...White Station won big in the regular season...Will again this time around

Would like to go up to KY playoffs to see Lone Oak (Paducah). QB Corey Robinson has passed for 4219 yards this season and a KY record of 74 touchdowns.

His team runs the score up on people.....He is still playing in the fourth quarter of blowouts throwing passes and his team will put an onside kick on you in blowout games.....I saw him play twice when my son was playing for Obion Central in scrimmages...Same QB,same set of receivers....He was on his back for the good part of both scrimmages....He took alot of punishment those two years....16 seniors from those two Rebel teams graduated and you end up with what happened to the Rebels this year.....That was year before last and last year....That's why when they played OC in the regular season they ran the score up on the Rebels....I believe they play Calloway Co(if they won their game)...Only reason to go see it would be because of the bad blood caused in their first game in Murray....Lone Oak scored late to win and the players and fans stomped at midfield of the Laker field...While Calloway Co was waiting for the hand shake,Lone Oak turned and left the field...Calloway Co coach said on his TV show that it didn't surprise him, that Lone Oak had no class....Real bad blood between the two teams, coaches and fans...West Ky football isn't all that strong anyway.....

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
