didnt jbhs get beat by whh and wayne co. played very poorly against them and still won that must mean the wildcats are a very great football team watch out jb

I probably wouldn't get into making those common opponent comparisons. They did beat a team last week by 28 points who beat your region champs a couple of weeks ago.. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Most of the time when teams say "we played bad" it is in large part b/c the team you played made you look bad. I played HS football too and that is something you and/or your coaches say to convince you that you could have stopped it when in most cases you could NOT. It is also a way to stay positive, I think it is a good idea just not a good excuse.....

Looks like WHH wasn't too impressed with the Ole Wildcats. I find it hard to believe that WC will be that easy to defeat. They're one of 16 teams left in the state so that's enough for me to believe that they're for real. I know WC likes to pound the ball so JB will have to bring it's A-game on defense. The same goes for WC; they've got to bring their A-game on D because JB is playing lights-out on offense. I think this is the key to this game; which team plays better defense. I can't wait to see it; the series is tied at 1-1 so this is for all the marbles (best 2 out of 3). Let the Red Carpet Roll!

Jo Byrns is a very good football team. They will be prepared for Wayne County.

Both of you hit it on the head. D will be key and JB will be prepared. From what I've heard, preparation and focus has not been in short supply since whh game. Everyone that I talk to say the same thing about how everyone's head is on straight now. JB got a bad taste from the loss and it seems like everyone from the coaches to the Senior leaders on down to the Freshmen are doing what it takes in practice to get the job done come Friday nite. It's gonna take one heck of a team to hand JB another loss...and I don't think it's gonna happen this Friday.

Only one more game guaranteed this season at The Dungeon, and the possibility of one more. I hope everyone talks it up and The Dungeon is as packed as the whh game or the '05 UC game...if not more. Let's make some noise!!!

hey cascade11 they did beat mc by 28pts but , wayne county beat them just as bad i belive wayne county was up by 28pts when they took starters out and mc added a touchdown or 2 late , wc played like crap on offense friday night and still won, the defense however played one of there best games of the year held whh to just under 200 total yds and over 100 of them came on 1 trick play and one drive in 3rd quarter, i look for this game to be really good jb may win as wayne county is a really young team but i think it will be a close game

anyone have the stats from the first whh and jb game ,

did whh run the ball well aginst them

Nobody asked what you think either; this is a forum, people tend to post their opinions or in other words "what they they think", please show a little class and quit acting like a moron.....

Well TAP3 , you arent going to beat a team like JB with a freshman QB putting the ball on the ground. Your team fumbled 2 or 3 times against CW , and I herd you did last Friday as well . JB are great tacklers and will tackle the football EVERY play. When CW lost to them last year in the same round they TOOK the ball from us 4 or 5 times , our sure handed players that hadnt dropped it all year , so with that said , if you can handle the hat's on the ball and keep the croud and trucks out of it , you just mite have a chance . if you drop the ball any ,,, JB beats you bad. Would love to go watch this one , if gas wasnt over 3 $ a gallon i would make it , hate to have to go to the bank and borrow the money , /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> good luck

I'm sure JB deserves all the praise they get and it will take Wayne County's A+ game to win but I assure you they did not play very good. Being so young does not bode well for any team, especially on the road. One thing they do have is confidence. These kids do not believe they will lose. Mentally they were not in the game. Good luck to both teams and may it be injury free.

Absolutely, the last thing any of us need is for any of the players to get hurt.

I really do not know much about WC but they will need to both run and pass to beat JBS. Also JBS will be the most versital offense they will have seen up to this point. They can do everything so just be ready for that.....

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
