WHITE HOUSE -- BARNES GAINES AND WOOD

Larry I am beginning to wonder if you actually have a BBall IQ. WH has 3 of the top 10 AA players in the state!!! I love your post because I can always get a good laugh.

Just for everyones entertainment will you provide the scoring average for Barnes and Wood from last year. Remember when you type it in that your stating they are in the top 10 in AA for the entire state.

These players will be all district performers but best in state is a huge stretch.

Thanks for keeping me entertained

Those are not good numbers!!! Howard would beat you guys by at least 20. not to mention Austin East and the Memphis area teams

Wood averages 19 per game this year. Barnes 15. Gaines 13. As good of a threesome as you'll find. The difference between this year and last is lots and lots of depth.

I agree. 10 points and 3-4 dimes per game is not close to the "top 10 players in AA".

Z Mason had 19.2 ppg and 11.4 rpg as a sophomore and CPA is not just a one man team. Hunter Miller had 18.4 ppg and 5.0 assists per game as a sophomore and nobody is mentioning him.

Starting as a freshman really speaks to the depth of the white house team not necessarily how good these players were. Look at the record. 9-19. I watched them play as freshman. Much different than say a John Jenkins when he was a Freshman averaging 19 a game on a pretty solid SC team.

I look at the total package as well. I have yet to see Barnes ability to go right and get a shot off the dribble other than a layup. I agree that he is a good spot up shooter actually very good spot up shooter. To be one of the best in the state shouldn't he be able to do it all, take over a game when necessary. I just haven't seen that type of talent out of these kids.

So when will you come to see White House play so i can make sure to let Barnes know you will be in attendance so he can please you. Since you have to put down a kid and everything. How about you just come to the Station Camp White House game since you bring up John Jenkins in every post you make and you can see him and Barnes go at it. Your real cool some adult you are getting on here putting down Barnes and Wood and Gaines in every post you make. Bet you wouldnt say nothing to Gaines in the street would ya??? Didnt think so. So just keep running your mouth and make lots of post after you see Barnes and Jenkins go at it will ya? Cause I wanna know what happens.

Seriously, is that really putting down a kid, to simply disagree that they are top 10 in AA and give examples of why you disagree??

Don't be hyper-sensitive, you are sounding like a youth soccer mom.

If someone was coming on here and taking personal shots about a kid and saying they stink etc. or getting into their personal life that would be a different story.

I have seen Barnes play and think he is a very good player, however I would tend to agree that a top 10 player would be able to score more and be more dominant than what I have seen out of him. Is this putting Barnes down?? I don't think so because I think he is a very good basketball player and has a lot of potential.

It would be easier to make a case for Gaines. If Gaines would lose about 50lbs and tone up, I believe he could be a really good Div I college basketball player. He has great hands and has a nice touch on his shot. WHHS is a good team and has some really good players.

NO ONE ARGUES JENKINS IS A GREAT BASKETBALL PLAYER. HES THE REAL DEAL. JENKINS AVERAGED 14-15 PER GAME AS A FRESHMAN ON A GREAT TEAM. STATION CAMP AND WHITE HOUSE PLAY COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TYPES OF BASKETBALL. FOR THE 1ST TIME IN BARNES 4 YEARS THEY ARE FINALLY RUNNING MORE. BUT GAINES AND WOOD ARE STILL THE 1ST OPTIONS IN THE OFFENSE. BARNES TOOK 8 SHOTS TOTAL LAST NIGHT. 3-6 ON THREES. 1-2 FROM TWOS. NEXT TIME YOU WATCH STATION CAMP PLAY TELL ME HOW MANY SHOTS JENKINS SHOOTS IN A GAME. LIKE I SAID JENKINS IS THE REAL DEAL AND HE'LL BE PLAYING BIG TIME D1 ONE DAY , BUT PUT BARNES ON A TEAM WHERE HE IS THE #1 OPTION AND YOU WOULD SEE HIS NUMBERS SKYROCKET.

I may be wrong but i only was at one WH vs SC game and it was the region tournment. I know that WH won the other 3 games and won they got away from what i read in the distric tournment. But Barnes is a player. But when he is guarded he is like a robot passing the ball away or shoting shots he cant make. From what i saw at the region title game. And Ive seen Terrell play and hes not even station camps best defender. and barns had 4! Dont compare barnes to jenkins. Its not close. I dont think hes in the top five in 8aa. Jenkins Gaines west mayes and terrell. Larry you have no bball IQ

    • It was not ACHS at all, they have zero reason to worry about Clinton.  It had to do with a kid (non football player)  that had a charge and appeared in front of the juvenile judge.  The judge saw that the kid was way behind credit wise for his grade and told him to reappear in a month with a plan to graduate.  When the kid reappeared he had more that twice the credits than one month before.  The judge called BS and contacted the school.  That is what started the investigation.  This involves multiple students, but to this point no athletes are involved.
    • I believe the Covington Chargers travel to Trenton Peabody for a scrimmage today? Anyone going to this? Curious how the Chargers will do.
    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.  Wore #15 and was like a mini Tebow, with the exception of being right handed. He could take a pounding and keep on ticking. Played with a collapsed lung against Powell that year. Tough as nails.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
