I do not know anything about this situation except for what is posted on here. I WILL tell you that Gallatin had to forfeit all their wins a few yrs back with a similar situation. They had a player transfer in. They filed papers and he was approved to play by TSSAA. Gallatin went by what the player TOLD them about his living situation. They were turned in by a rival school and lo and behold.....found out the player had LIED to the coaches about his info. YET....the TSSAA had approved him. Shouldn't it be the responsibility of the TSSAA to thoroughly check any info from a transfer ? Because Gallatin belived the young man was telling them the truth......it cost them their season. SO......moral to the story.......if it gets turned in to TSSAA, you better HOPE this young man was on the up and up about his info.

True, it is the school's responsibility if he is ineligible, not the TSSAA. I personally don't agree with this if the TSSAA approves the player. What is the school supposed to do if the player tells them this info and isn't telling the truth?

"Executive Director Approval Required. A school may not allow a transfer student to participate in athletics until his/her eligibility has been verified and approved by the Executive Director. The school is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information supplied to the Executive Director for this purpose."

that is what is says.. Go to the bottom of PAGE 13

even after reading that I would think the TSSAA would atleast look into it when they rule him eligible or not..

The question is, as I have read it....is....what was falsified? Or are people making a very unreasonable assumption just because he transfered.

The player in question played in ten games for a private school last year. He claims that he only played in three games for this school last year, hence he claims that he has sat out a year. He did not play for Farragut until their fourth game this year.

That would be a shame for Farragut to have to forfeit. I hope that they sort this out quickly.

Interesting! If he would have only played three games last year and sat out the first three this year, would be be eligible by rule? I have no knowledge of Grace Baptist (actually never heard of it), how was this discovered?

Oh Horsefeathers I hate farragut as much as anybody but... this is a bunch of crap. Get over it and let them play football! It's just a bunch of sore losers trying to cause trouble for the ADs. Never thought I would be pulling for Farragut but this is a bunch of crap!! I just said that didn't I? Oh well.....

I looked over the TSSAA rules and I think that this doesn't hold water, IF he moved residences out of one school's territory and into the current school's territory. I know there is a Grace Baptist Academy near Chattanooga. If he moved from there, then there is no question that he changed outside of one school territory and into another. There is a Grace Baptist in Knoxville (not sure if they have a football team). If this is the one, then he might have been in the same school territory at Farragut and thus not have a bona fide change of residence.

    • Hope the catcher on baseball team come back out and play's football . He didn't play last year if I remember but I don't remember much after that wreck anyways.. But he did play his freshman and soph years and I thought was a very good player. He's put on some size now, so I'm hoping he's thinking about playing again..
    • Pirates are young this year.  Gordy can sleep on them.
    • They’ll get it worked out eventually.Farragut is too good of a program to be down for long. As an OR fan, I can’t really say I’m too distraught about it though.
    • I didn’t even see that until you said something, but I don’t think it’s that bad. Yes, the coaches can’t get along with each other. But I don’t think they’re openly taking shots at each other right in front of the parents. If they are, that’s pitiful though, that’s really pitiful. I sure hope they’re not, but yeah, I’ve heard the same thing from players over at Farragut getting fed up, and I feel as though what the coaching staff has been trying to keep under the prying eyes of the parents is now out on full display.
    • and there is definitely a reason for that—more than just Catholic recruiting.
