PTSportsWriter
thats a big blow for West, who's already a game behind in the standings from 5th and has two remaining games with Greeneville. (Although admittedly, 6th looks a lot better than 4th or 5th, given the tournament brackets) If Cocke County can win at West on Tuesday (and Cherokee doesnt pull off an upset), we're looking at a three-way tie for a very crucial third position at 3-4. PTSportsWriter
Standings which concede a 10-0 season by Greeneville and factors in a loss to them for East, Cherokee, Jefferson County and two for West. Greeneville 10-0 Morristown East 4-4 Cherokee 3-4 Jefferson County 3-5 Cocke County 2-4 Morristown West 1-

They do think Sidney Goins has torn her acl, the same one she tore 2 yrs. a go. Not only is this a huge blow for the basketball program but also the track program. She was 5th in the state in high jump last yr. and also ran on the 4x200 relay team which medaled at the state meet. Hopefully an mri on Monday will tell for sure. She is a great kid. Best wishes Sidney for a speedy recovery. This is West's 9th acl injury in the last 5 yrs.
lastlap
Thoughts and prayers go out to Sidney Goins. A great young Lady and the best athlete in the IMAC in my opinion. Hopefully the MRI will bring good news.

They have had allot of knee problems in the last few Years. I hope for her sake that it is sprain and not a tare she is a great athlete and I am sure that Track team and Ladies Basketball team will miss her if she can not compete. PTSportsWriter
So whats the best case scenario for Goins? I'm guessing a sprain and a 2-3 week absence?

Cocke County tried to go half court with the best half court defense in East Tennessee. They are not a good shooting team and I think that the best way for them to win is run and gun. Conversely, not much depth may not allow them to run the entire game. Sounded like the other two games: Morristown West let one escape against Jefferson County. Of course, since the second half of the Jeff Co/Cocke Co game, the Lady Pats have been playing very tough, intense physical basketball. East and Cherokee another close battle. Probably the two most well-rounded teams outside of Greeneville. One big game on tap for Tuesday with Cocke County @ West. Greeneville also visits Cherokee. A Cocke County win and a Cherokee loss makes a three way tie (Cocke, Cherokee, Jefferson) for third at 3-4, a game behind 2nd place East (4-3).
