Officiating in this game was terrible. Fortunately, it was terrible in every way, towards both teams. I felt there were a lot of body fouls called but very few that should have been on reach in fouls. DC has a very good team, but I think they should have had more reach in calls. OC played well, but committed several fouls inside on defense and got themselves in foul trouble. Harner got called for 2 fouls less than a minute into the game, both being questionable. But OC got away with a few as well. 10 point game with about 5 minutes to play, and DC made a late run.

OC had 31 turnovers, of which about 75% were due to pressure. They were flustered early but fought back into the thick until 3 starters fouled out toward the end. DC has a good press, but I felt the Rebels worked well against it. Gilliam had a good game, although he tired some at the end. Kid is a player though, and could start on most any team.

Great effort Rebels. Definitely headed back in the right direction. Bounce back on Friday at Crockett County.

Go Rebels!!!!!!!

Everytime I see the OC they have improved!!! I am a die hard Choctaw fan, but I was impressed by all of Obion's players. I don't know his name but #3 was the MVP of the game. Great Job Obion, good luck the rest of the year!!!

Sounds like OC gave it a good run. As others have said, I am impressed with the OC team, but DC is a very special group with outstanding talent and experience. They do get away with a lot reach in's because they are so quick. I saw them play Milan (who has some very good young talent, plus the great one David Vaughn), and Milan hung with them until the third quarter run and then Milan lost by around 20. The runs are what really puts you away. I do not see DC losing any District games, unless they really have an off night. Good luck to OC, as you have a good shot at making the region.

At least the Lady Rebels and the JV Rebels boys won.... /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

From what I was told, you cant really count the boys JV game as a win because it was running clock and they probably only played a half due to the fact Dyer Co had bad weather. Not sure how good either team is but hard to believe Dyer Co lost fairl.

I agree with OCFan. Is it just me, or does the officiating really stink out loud this year. It`s not just the reach-ins, but obvious missed calls as well. Traveling, charges, over-the-back, etc. Very inconsistant. They let `em play rough for awhile, then call a foul for a handcheck. I`ve seen more bad calls on both sides of the ball this year than I can ever remember.

No, It is not just you....it has been beyond bad. I have seen calls made that my 6yr.old could tell you were insane. They are nitpicky one second....and you can have a free for all the next. I have shook my head in disbelief more than once this year.

Purple, I think the Rebels proved your assumption of them being a team to back down from physical play wrong last night. I was goverly impressed with those kids out there. Take away the first five minutes of the game where the Rebels commited over ten turnovers and allowed the Choctaws to get up by about 15 and you have yourself a close game at the end ( minus the three foul-outs, which were bogus. I totally agree with the few of you that said something. The officiating was some of the worst I've personally ever seen). To put up over 70 points is a task for the slow-it-down Rebels, and the thought they would still lose is something to wrap your mind around. I'm deeply proud of OC, and this only hammers it home. Great effort boys, don't hang your heads. You fought your hardest till the very end, and trust me, the score was no way indicative of the actual game.

I said they didn't NEED to get the reputation of backing down from physical play....

It was good to hear they went blow for blow with the Choctaws...You got to hustle and play hard against whoever you play against and whether you believe they did back down in some instances or didn't against South Fulton last Saturday night for the most part they did...They allowed SF to be the agressor....Maybe it was addressed in practice...

Dyer County is the measuring stick in 13AA...I think this game showed where the Rebels stand against the Choctaws...Showed them they got work to do...But I'm sure coach Kail will do his best to work them and get them better...I know it's still early but in reality the race is for 2nd place in this district, barring injury to any significant Choctaw player/s....OC certainly has a legitimate shot at claiming that #2 spot...

Huge game in Alamo on Friday nite...This club needs to put this loss behind them and come out and play sharp and win the game against Crockett County....They need to win the games they are favored in....

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
