redandblack63
AC has struggled with catholic in the past; how will they match-up tonight? A.C. is the team to beat in District 4 AA. They are well coached have great size and good guard play. Rorex is most likely the best pt. g in the region They have proven they can compete with the best teams around and beat most of them. Currently they are ranked #9 in the state. As I said earlier they will challenge A.E. for the region title. A.C. by 10.
IrishBBall
AC is probably stronger at 3 of the 5 spots on the floor. Catholic will have to control tempo, rebound and make FTs to have a shot at the win. AC is coming off a very tough win at Stone that may have drained the Mavs some. They have excellent depth however. Walden and Hood are tough matchups for AC but Rorex, White and Sharpe are equally tough for Catholic. Also AC brings in very steady play in Seiber. Longmire, Copeland and Gouldie. Will be a tough but winnable game for the Irish.

Walden and Gasper may have something to say about that. He may outscore them some but I don't think he's as tough defensively and certainly doesn't rebound as well. I still think AC is the best team in the district but they had trouble with the Irish tonight. Catholic won 62-50. Walden proved to be a tough matchup as predicted especially when he's hitting 3s and was 9-12 from the field. Big surprising contributions from Cody Smith with a career high on 3 3s and Mark David Kennedy with 2 3s. Very solid team win! Jimmy Dolan - you may have worked up some bad mojo for the MAVS mentioning the struggles of the past. /bored.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":bored:" border="0" alt="bored.gif" />
HOOPSGURU
well it looks like everyone was wrong. catholic won by double digits. it was a great game but catholic just outplayed them tonight. Had a chance to see the Mighty Mavs tonight and walked away a little disappointed. Obviously, they had more talent than Catholic, but seemed to lack the toughness down the stretch. Defensively they were bad. They played with little intensity at the guard position on D. The post players were soft and didn't box out at key times. AC took some questionable shots after fighting back and taking the lead in the third. The long threes by #12 hurt AC's momentum and #32(skinny kid) while he might look like the best athlete on the court was passive for most of the game. He was a human highlight reel in warmups though. Too bad his most aggressive moves are only seen with the sweats on. Rorex sitting most of the game definitely hurt, but you have to admire a coach for instilling discipline, even when it might have cost them a game. Rorex was strong in the third quarter but struggled with his decisions down the stretch of when to shoot and when to pass. He was doubled and tripled and yet still shot. His talent is obvious, but AC's squad is loaded. Walden was the best player on the floor tonight. He got his shot whenever he wanted. His range is deep and his touch on drives is uncanny. He looked like he understands how to make his teammates better players by getting them open shots too. I have a feeling AC will show up down the road though, and maybe Catholic will too. Good luck to both teams.
Baseballfan9383
AC was due a loss. This could be the best thing for them going into the last half of the season. Catholic played a great game and it was by far their night. Walden played great and the rest of the team just fed off him. Now if he can just get his dad to shut up and leave him alone during the game he might average 30 a game. Good win Irish.....
jimmy dolan
irishbball, bad mojo or not, sounds like the mavs played terrible! i was unable to make it to the game because of a business trip. but, from what ive heard and read; it sounds as though the mavs may have overlooked the irish. needless to say, these 2 teams will probably meet a couple more times. hopefully, the outcome will be different. which kid is the walden kid? is he #3?
